Happy Birthday Marcelo :)

Thanks for all you've done for us

You're almost a Leo, so you'll just have to aspire to greatness rather than being born to it ;-)

Marcelo Bielsa quote of the week.

When a young player shines, it is the players with experience who notice it immediately. Even if they don't say it, they make you notice it.

In depth analysis of Bielsa's third man concept with examples in training and on the pitch leading to a goal.

Professional footballers should be comfortable playing the ball with either foot.
It's amazing how many of them are one-footed.

O'Leary vs Bielsa

Post by Cjay »

Which team wins?

Manager David O'Leary

Formation 4-4-2

Transfer fees are calculated using a calculator which converts prices to a modern day value.

Gk- Nigel Martyn- £4.4mil
Rb- Gary Kelly- Academy
Lb- Ian Harte- Academy
Cb- Rio Ferdinand- £31mil
Cb- Lucas Radebe £522,000

Rw- Lee Bowyer- £5.5mil
Lw- Harry Kewell - academy
Cm- David Batty- £8.1mil
Cm- Olivier Dacourt- £12.8mil

St- Alan Smith- Academy
St- Mark Viduka.- £10.6mil

Subs Paul Robinson
Danny Mills-£7.4mill
Jonathan Woodgate- Academy
Erik Bakke- £3.2mil
Jason Wilcox- £7.1mil
Dominic Matteo- £10.6mil
Robbie Keane- £19mil

Total rounded to £122million

Vs

Manager- Marcelo Bielsa.

Formation 4-1-4-1

Gk- Illan Meslier
Rb- Luke Ayling
Lb- Stuart Dallas
Cb- Liam Cooper
Cb- Diego Llorente

Dm- Kalvin Phillips

Rw- Raphinha
Lw- Jack Harrison
Cm- Mateusz Klich
Cm- Rodrigo

St- Patrick Bamford

Subs

IMO the O’Leary team 99 times out of 100

However, for context Cjay perhaps you ought to also put how much £££ it cost to put each of those teams together.

Dolly without doubt for me, especially if I can transfer Rapha for Kewell.

BTW, Nigel Martyn was a very unlucky world class keeper kept out by Seaman, years before 2 class keepers in Shilton & Clemence alternated, which would have seen NM with more deserved caps than he actually got.

I actually had worked out the cost of the O'Learu team before posting using an inflation calculator.

I have posted it now.

But the thing is football has moved on a lot.

I haven't worked out the total cost but id imagine the Bielsa one is more expensive
