Cure by numbers.
I know Tom Waits is an acquired taste, but Bone Machine is a 'belter', and should be much higher up.
Bone Machine is a belter along with his other more popular albums Rain Dogs, Swordfishtrombones & Closing Time. My personal favourite is the mellow Heartattack & Vine.
Very much an acquired taste type of artist, music lovers into metal, heavy rock music generally wouldn't appreciate Tom Waits albums similarly to the likes of Nick Drake, Robert Wyatt, etc. in that sphere.
I agree with faaip that this Cure record is substandard from them. I remember bine disappointed at the time. Bone Machine was also a miss for me from Waits.
Rheos
Lemonheads- I had an inexplicable (in hindsight) obsession with Juliana Hatfield in those days.
The Orb- this record was a big deal!

Loved The Cure. But it ended at Disintegration for me. I really dont like the pop-y Friday I'm in Love. I cringe every time I hear it on the radio
We've been through it all together. And we've had our ups and downs
