Like Sam says you don’t expect any player to be happy about being dropped. Just clickbait stuff really

Meslier doing an interview on a French channel today

Says he's only going to leave for a Number 1 job.

That rules out some of the ideas that have been floated - back up to Lloris at Tottenham being the most popular

Maybe it increases our chances of keeping him

I'd say unlikely. More likely that he ends up at a mid to low level premier league club

Link is in French, but Leeds Live translated: https://rmcsport.bfmtv.com/football/mer ... 00271.html

Clearly wants to leave, wasn't even subtle.

Not to fussed about Meslier.

Don't think he is THAT good for his age.

Hopefully get a good price for a change.

£30mil something like that

Overrated for me, decent young keeper but nothing more than that at this stage of his career.

He will improve, no doubt, but a decent bid and it’s a no brainer, he goes.

£30m  ....dream on, Cjay.

From memory I'm sure Newcastle didn't pay Burnley (when they went down) more than £10m for Nick Pope, who (imo) is at a level well above Mes

We'd have got that price earlier this season - back when he was pulling off heroics at Anfield

But we'll only get half that now we're 2nd tier

Think Pope had only 12 months left on his contract :duno:

Far better than Meslier absolutely (all be is Meslier thinks he should be Chelsea number 1 apparently)

Pickford and Ramsdale were sold for the £20-30mil region after being relegated.

Would just be nice to get the right side of a deal for a change.

Then again with these relegation release clauses god knows what we have agree to.

I'd have never paid it for him tbh

Don't think he is the talent he is made out to be.

But someone may.

Don't recall anyone interested in him outside the usual clickbait stuff.

Please sell the skinny Frenchman. We can do so much better.

I would go get Andre Blake. The Jamaica #1 keeper has had a very consistently good career in MLS with Philadelphia Union. He's a terrific shot stopper. A 3 time MLS Goalkeeper of the year. He's in the prime of is career at 32 years old. I think he would be excellent for us in the Championship.

He’s pretty good, Paul. I’d also take Robles or Sam Johnstone’s from Palace. Both are better and cheaper. Meslier’s head is gone…

Didn’t realise Sam Johnstone only played 9 times for Palace last season, once highly rated particularly at West Brom.

Johnstone, good call. Think autocorrect did its number there. Anyway, I think he got a sniff on the England squad as a backup. Definitely a solid prospect for us, IMHO.

You’re right Joe, he did.

He’s clearly dropped off at Palace for whatever reason.

I'm quite fed up with Mes tbh. Actually I'd like to see him go. He used to be pretty good, but last season he was crap. :o

We desperately need a keeper with good experience this season. Like most on here i thought Mes was going to turn into a very good keeper ( in the early days at least ) but last season was a disaster for him. I honestly believe he will become a good keeper but last seasons excuse for a defence in front of him plus his young age showed he has a lot still to learn.
If Robles has gone and Mes does go we dont have any keeper good enough to play first team football for us, the rest are too inexperienced.

If he isn't that good for his age how are we getting £30 million for him?
