Root just passes his 100.

Game Drawn.

Pretty high scoring game seeing the ball is usually nibbling around all over the place.............

7 wickets on debut for Yorkshires Kolpac player Oliver.

I love cricket.

Big Summer for England hosting the WC and fancying their chances too.

Led of course by an Irishman

Good start for Somerset as they edge past Kent

Great innings win for Hants with their No.4 batsman Northeast knocking a superb 169. Hampshire's bowlers Edwards claimed 8 wickets with Abbott taking 7 wickets in the match

Yorkshire v Notts match drawn with the Yorkies finishing on 277 for 2 thanks to superb centuries from Gary Ballance 101 not out & England's captain Joe Root 130 not out following his first innings score of 79.

Clarke was Notts star of the match unlucky not to hit two centuries in the match. 112 & 97 not out

Lovely mate. I would love to see a Test Match or and ODI at Headingley.

Ireland play England at Lords which is a big temptation but I might have to settle for a couple of ODIs against Afghanistan and Zimbabwe.

I was on the verge of booking flights to the T20 blast Finals day last year but things didnt work out.

And Hector... there is always one isn' t there ?

Hants & the Somerset boys off to a flyer, even after one match I have a feeling the championship is heading to one of these counties

If someone was asked to describe standing on a field facing a maniac who was running at them and about to aim a very hard lump of leather at their head at 90mph, I wonder how many would say.

Boring....

What do you think of Gale? For me the appointment was all a bit "Jobs for the boys" by Moxon if you ask me. He's not really impressed as coach has he? To be fair our top order have been by and large mediocre these last few years. Hell, even when we won the titles it was the middle order who's contribution made it all possible. Gale already came out before the Notts game and said we won't be realistically challenging for trophies for at least another 2 or 3 years. What's all that about? Getting his excuses in early? We're Yorkshire for God's sake. Looking at the side against Notts: No Rashid, no Bresnan, no Bairstow. Was it really our strongest side available? I doubt it. To be fair Bresnan looked shot with both bat and ball last year, particularly so at the crease. I think he's feeling it now.
