RIP. Maybe not held in high regard as Davies, Motson, Wolstenholme,Moore but a great commentator nevertheless.

Re: RIP To Those Departed
Former England and Wolves midfielder Ron Flowers has died at the age of 87.
Flowers was a non-playing member of the England squad which won the 1966 World Cup and was awarded a winners' medal in 2009.
He earned 49 caps for England and made 515 appearances for Wolves between 1952 and 1967.
Flowers helped the Midlands club to three First Division titles and also won the 1960 FA Cup during his 15 years at Molineux.
RIP Ron

Re: RIP To Those Departed - Celtic legend passes away
Bertie Auld, who won the European Cup as part of Celtic's Lisbon Lions team in 1967, has died aged 83.
Fantastic player, had the pleasure of seeing Auld play in our 1970 European Cup Semi-Final
RIP Bertie

Bertie was a fabulous raconteur, a real man of the people. There's a fantastic story he used to tell about him playing for Birmingham in a European match. The game was being refereed by the legendary Scottish Ref Tom " Tiny" Wharton , Bertie clattered into an opposing player and was called over by the ref to be booked, he tried to lighten the mood by commenting to him about there being two Scots on the park that night , Tiny replied " any more tackles like that and there will only be one " R.I.P. to a true legend of the game

Re: RIP To Those Departed - Celtic legend passes away
Yes I was there too. It was a bit humbling actually, the top Scottish club beating the top English club. Made me respect the Scottish league (well Rangers and Celtic) a bit more.
Re: RIP To Those Departed - Celtic legend passes away
That Celtic side were exceptional Bob, of course the first British team to win the European Cup in 1967.
Jimmy Johnstone was brilliant that night.
Re: RIP To Those Departed - Celtic legend passes away
They were a good side but don’t forget, we had to play about 14 games in six weeks.
That’s with one sub, Bremner injured for part of it and a fine and no help from the FA (we rested a few players for a game, hence the fine)
Re: RIP To Those Departed - Celtic legend passes away
I don't know if this was the one but I remember we had several games over a short time period so against the Wendies we fielded a reserve team and won but still got fined for fielding a weak team.
Re: RIP To Those Departed - Celtic legend passes away
Indeed, we did Finn, the FA found any excuse to penalise us.

Sir Frank Williams, who has died aged 79, was one of the greatest Formula 1 team owners in history and a man who became an icon through his determination to compete at the highest level despite a severe disability.

Re: RIP To Those Departed
You get the impression he was a really focused and self motivated type of man, especially given the consequences of the car crash he had in the 80’s. To take on the likes of Ferrari and other established teams and his team then win the number of constructor/driver titles it did in F1 was no mean feat.
RIP Frank
