Lamont Dozier, one third of Motown's phenomenal writing trio of Holland-Dozier-Holland, has passed aged 81. Legend is a term that is bandied about too easily these days, but Lamont rightly earns the accolade. Think of a Motown track, and odds are he wrote it, a true great. Thank you for the music. RIP

And not just Motown.lufc1304 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 11, 2022 7:38 am Lamont Dozier, one third of Motown's phenomenal writing trio of Holland-Dozier-Holland, has passed aged 81. He also wrote for the likes of Phil Collins, Carly Simon and Mick Hucknall to name just a few.
RIP.

Was he. Didn’t know either of those facts. It was a golden era for golf.Mick Jones shoulder wrote: ↑Mon Aug 22, 2022 4:13 pm And apparently rather amusing, along with being a club chucker . Great golfer.
Rory did the best club chuck ever. 150 yards into a lake. Proper job, not that I applaud it but it was funny.

Funniest thing I've heard oncourse was Monty berating Harrington for taking an age to decide what to do at the belfry. Monty was not mincing his words ,classic stuff.

Rab Wardell, 36yo Scottish mountain biking champion, less than 48hrs after winning the championship dies in bed next to his wife . Cardiac arrest. He was joking on tv only last night about winning despite 3 punctures. Truly shocking.

Only just noticed this Mick. You’re a golf fan I think. You have some knowledge about the game obviously.Mick Jones shoulder wrote: ↑Mon Aug 22, 2022 9:03 pm Funniest thing I've heard oncourse was Monty berating Harrington for taking an age to decide what to do at the belfry. Monty was a miserable bugger. I’d like to have heard that conversation!
When he nearly won the US Open (USPGA?) his caddie clearly said 7 iron middle of the green don’t mess with the pin....

Bill Turnbull has died at the age of 66, his representatives have confirmed.
Turnbull hosted BBC Breakfast for 15 years, in both London and later Salford, and also fronted Songs of Praise and game show Think Tank.
His family said: "Bill will be remembered by many as a remarkable broadcaster who brought warmth and humour into people's homes".
In 2018, he announced he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Re: RIP To Those Departed
Bill was a lovely man, a massive Wycombe Wanderers fan, often did much work for his beloved club.
Also a inspiration campaigning awareness of the horrible disease prostate cancer.
A kind, gentle, charming & funny man.

Far too young to die especially as Bill was such a nice person, highly respected by all his colleagues.
