Who do you replace him with ? Wober is injured and if he is fit both go in the line-up. Cooper is the captain. Prone to make a mistake but that is trait of all virtually all our players, especially in a relegation fight. He needs to be on the pitch if we are to stand any chance of avoiding the drop.

Re: Liam Cooper
Cooper was superb at Fulham & had a good first-half vs Leicester, he made two or three serious mistakes in the second-half that could have cost us all three points, but overall his form has been decent & Cooper's fitness seems to be returning after a long lay-off.
Coops has to start at Bournemouth if Wober is unavailable!

Re: Liam Cooper
Agreed. There is the dilemma. Struijk and Rasmus can both play CB. I’d like to think they could play better than a tired Cooper for 20 minutes. The first offside was a warning that Coop might be too tired to continue.DDB220 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2023 10:23 am Who do you replace him with ? I agree with Leon in that he’s an absolute must start for me against Bournemouth. But if he’s tired by the 70th minute, he needs to be brought out as Bournemouth have pace and will no doubt exploit that. I also hope Wober is back and is playing either LB or DM for this one. That would give us more options when/if Coop tires.

Re: Liam Cooper
Leicester
Good
2 defensive headers
2 block
1 good pass
1 interception
Bad
1 poor pass
Competent in the 34 minutes Coops was on the pitch, replaced by Wober who continued in the same vein

He's never been the greatest player and his shirt pulling and grappling worries the life out of me but I have never doubted his effort and commitment.

Re: Liam Cooper
Coops has been a fine servant to our club, even though he has less quality than some, same with Ayling & Dallas. Leeds United means the world to these three players.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2023 7:31 am I love that line:

A few agents are shopping their players already. Coops is 100% about LUFC. He epitomizes the BB "Side before self." Proud to have him at our club.

Re: Liam Cooper
That actually does look like he’s written that, rather than an agent etc.
Looks like he’s staying, not that I’d expected him to go.

Re: Liam Cooper
I'd be happy to see Coops still in the squad next season. Not a first choice anymore, but he's been a good captain on and off the field, he gets what it means to be Leeds and you cannot buy that.

Needs to stay, still has a year and he’d be invaluable coaching down the lineandrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2023 7:31 am I love that line:

He’s on a par with Pontus in terms of talent

Re: Liam Cooper
He'll not necessarily make a good coach but his dressing room experience may prove to be a good thing with the younger players next season and beyond.

Re: Liam Cooper
he has never been good enough from the day we signed him from chesterfield , a total liability , too clumsy ,no pace ,no positional sense ,how he is still at the club ,and captain as well beggars belief . if he is anywhere near the first team next season we are in big trouble , cresswell is twice the player , yet the muppets running the club decided to loan him out to millwall instead .
to be made captain requires not only leadership but ability as well , cooper has neither , strachan , bremner were captains who led by example , cooper is just a plodder who belongs in league 1 or 2 at best . but this club cannot see beyond end of their nose when it comes to judging ability

Re: Liam Cooper
With Cooper it means something. The club means something. I always said he was our 4th best center back. But we're a better team when he plays. Too many of this new generation turn up for a paycheck, looking for the next big move, spending more time talking to their agents than the coaching staff. We need people like Cooper. And Ayling and Dallas.Barlow Boy wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2023 8:24 am That actually does look like he’s written that, rather than an agent etc.

The players listen to him too. In that regard, he's already a coach in the dressing room. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2023 10:39 am Needs to stay, still has a year and he’d be invaluable coaching down the line
