Re: Newcastle United Thread - Barcodes fans loving Bielsa's Leeds
Good luck to Wood but can't really seeing him saving Newcastle almost single handedly this season with the required goals they will need him to score. He is a goal every 4 or 5 games striker lately and they will need much more than that from him to avoid the drop unless they sign a better striker than him too this window. Excellent for the bank balance though at this stage of his career. Won't be surprised if Wood grabs another payday when Newcastle bring the big guns in by going to America.. or Saudi. I think he's got it all figured out!

Re: Newcastle United Thread - Chris Wood signed
2nd signings £37.5m spent so far
Re: Newcastle United Thread - Chris Wood having medical. £25m
Yeah, been saying that it makes total sense to buy Wood for the here and now, but that shouldn't be the end of our business. Genuinely, if we go off and sign Isak (unlikely) at the end of the window and Wood only makes 3 appearances, total, it doesn't really matter.
If we stay up, the next window will be the most exciting, right now, it's chiefly to give us the best chance of staying up.

Bloody bed wetters. As long as we're within 3pts of safety come the final day we'll survive.Cjay wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 6:22 pm https://newcastle-online.org/topic/3650 ... /page/947/
Newcastle fans bit scared now
If we can sign a midfielder that has greater control of the game than our decrepit Voldemort, we'll stop surrendering leads so timidly.

Exactly what we think.

Diego Carlos has told Sevilla he wants to leave to join Newcastle.
The Brazilian international has always dreamed about erm, having his wages trebled.
Newcastle have had a bid rejected for Striker Duvan Zapata and winger Eden Hazard.

How many players are you missing? Any danger of the game being postponed?
Re: Newcastle United Thread - Barcode fans loving Bielsa's Leeds
So you can field a team of money grabbing mercenaries in a months time?
About 10 I think but none are covid far as we know so unless that changes then no not a chance of postponement.

That's accurate as of post West Ham without the 2 players who went off in that game as we haven't had an update.

Now being heavily linked with the Burnley ch James Tarokowsk .

nuary frustration for Newcastle it seems, this time with Lingard. As things stand, the deal is off, but the Athletic's David Ornstein says there is still plenty of time for things to change.
Speaking on the Transfer Gossip Daily on BBC Sounds, he said: "Although it feels like there are only a few days to go, there are many hours in those days and things can change incredibly quickly.
"Jesse Lingard initially wanted to stay at Manchester United until the end of the season and fight his way back into Ralf Rangnick’s plans.
"It’s a World Cup year of course so that’s in the forefront of his mind. There’s very little sign that he’s going to enjoy much game time and he’s barely played at all.
"Therefore with Newcastle coming in very strongly for him with what I’m sure will be a very lucrative offer, and the England game time in mind and the chance of re-establishing himself in Gareth Southgate’s plans made him think ok, we’ll do this.
"On Tuesday he did have a conversation with Ralf Rangnick on the phone and he gave him his blessing to join Newcastle or to leave on loan.
"But Manchester United and Newcastle need to agree terms and the loan fee that Manchester United want is what many would feel is extremely high and Newcastle aren’t prepared to meet that.
"So unless Manchester United change their stance or Newcastle come up to that level, then it’s off."Listen to the full show below.
