Re: Emma Raducana
Have to laugh at the Daily Mail today, half the front page is a photo of Romanian Chinese Canadian Briton Emma, the other half is Patel's threat to "send migrants back to France"!

Wow what a star. I think she is a tad bit better than Laura Robson or Heather Watson ever was. Should make the tennis more interesting now Andy is past it

Well if you do can you keep the noise down please cos I'll be fast asleepWhite Riot wrote: I've watched her last two matches at the US Open Swannie and she's done fantastically well.
I really hope she can go on and win it.
A rare talent with a great attitude.
As it's been the boring international break I've had more time to watch other sports. I watched a lot of the Solheim Cup and that was brilliant entertainment and a great result for Europe.
Emma's playing the Greek lass tonight in the semi and that kicks off (dunno what the tennis phrase is?) around 2am in GB, which is 4am here in BG. If I wake up in the middle of the night, as I often do, I'll get up to cheer Emma on

Well done Emma.
Straight through from qualifying to the US Open Final without dropping a set - an unbelievable achievement.
Now go on and win it girl.

She's already won it in my eyes, well done Emma.
She still wont get SPoTY mind, Ronaldive has it nailed on.

Wow! What a little superstar. Well done Emma, what an amazing achievement. The most exciting female player we've ever had and lovely with it as well. I really hope she can win it but as MC says, in a way, she already has....

Fantastic performance and such a refreshing attitude from a top sportsperson. Ok it's early days for her, but I have watched too many tennis "stars" whose demeanor on court and in interview suggests they have the "worst job in world"
Popped into a local pub at lunch time and everyone was talking about Emma (normally its just football, football, football). Emma seems to have uplifted everyone's mood.
I will be tuning in to the final.

I'm on holiday at the moment and so haven't been posting for a couple of days but I feel unable to let the above post pass without comment:
Emma Raducanu is the 1st British woman tennis player to reach the final of the American open since 1977 and as a qualifier it is truly an impressive achievement and all you can do is try and make it into a mindless politicall point scoring opportunity, with absolutely no merit whatsoever, pathetic and tiresome Mountain. Grow up!

Re: Emma Raducana takes the first set - Channel 4 now!
Emma should have been 3-0 up,
Losing her serve puts her under pressure.
