Therefore Ian we probably dont get Bowen .
Deal& wages are what most want to demand so to say. And unless an exception to that ultimately...( an exceptionally gifted player) wont happen. If a player comes for purely football , then we stand a chance . Cash wise we're non negotiable to a large degree.

Plus they could offer him a more attractive wage package.
Only way we could afford Bowen is by sacrificing Phillips & I wouldn't want us going down that road

Thats about the height of it paddy, we don't have any real financial clout at the minute, it is catch 22, the team needs a proven striker and I dont think we will find anyone inside the UK.

Which is where our scouting network is letting us down.

Oh for a Pukki type find

Never a good time for bad form but i wonder if finally the penny may have dropped?

Orta looked distraught on Sky.

Maybe the only crumb of comfort is that the club can try and do something about it and they have 10 days to get some quality in?

Hopefully a cm is right in the forefront of their minds now to with KP out for 3 games and the folly of banking on Forshaw which is apparently what we planned on doing.

According the the commentator on Sky, we haven't been slacking. Been talking to Southampton since October, looks like their manager is the stumbling block. Also in deep talks with 3 other clubs about players.

Thing is we dont have any cash to tempt anyone in.
I reckon we will end up with a D1 player and keep the turd polishing policy alive.

Also said we agreed to start Nketiah in 80% of games...I don't believe for a second that MB didn't want him as, imo, has final say. No idea what happened there, something lost in translatio maybe

I don't know if it's at all relevant but mentioning Alioski right after the interviewer asked about strikers coming in or strikers at the club might indicate that we could see Bamford dropped for Alio... Or it could be he was just angry and it's an empty threat

What chance have Championship clubs got, when a player at Watford, wbo can't get a game is on £80k a week and they want us to pay the whole amount plus £2m loan fee. Unbefeckinglievable

Simple thing is we've been left behind through spending far too long out of the PL consequently hemorrhageing cash . The gulf is getting wider and it will get more and more difficult to get up . Money has ruined the game thanks to Sly TV, it has a lot to answer for.

And this is it in a nutshell....LUFC cannot self sustain in this division, most teams can't. Ownership has to keep topping up from their own funds or player sales. If you're lucky enough to have been in the prem once or twice last 10 years you have a massive financial advantage over teams that have not

At that point every player you invest "big" money in has to hit...and for us they haven't and it's not a scouting thing. 95 out of every 100 liked the signings as they were happening

Horrific rumour doing the rounds.

Josh Windass (who Wigan fans say misses hatfulls of chances) wasnt in the squad yesterday and we are allegedly buying him.

Please god no.

May i suggest if we are looking in the Championship, Adam Armstrong at Blackburn.

But Josh Windass would be so underwhelming.

What ownership? Historically they've also been a key factor as to why the club has stagnated for so long. We've had some shysters, the cancerous Bates, skint Arabs and snorting man Cellino. All who used the club as a cash cow, selling off all our decent talent with very little investment. Granted Radz is a clear improvement, but doesn't have very deep pockets.

Credit to Sheffield United, managing to go up with the squad they had and now very much holding their own. Just goes to show what can be done.
