Hecky is expecting to be without the majority of his injured players (nine of them) against Sunderland although is Roofe back in training.

With Pennington the latest casualty in the treatment room we now only have one fit central defender in our entire squad, so it is highly likely our development squad CB Paudie O'Connor could be involved this weekend whom has trained with the first team squad all week and made the trip to Fulham. Along with Pearce & Clarke, Ryan Edmondson & Sam Dalby are also on the fringe of a call up, expect to see at least two of the U23's in Saturday's squad

Sunderland are desperate for the points as the attempt to close the gap on Birmingham, Bolton & Reading above them

I'd like to see Heckingbottom be brave.

. . . . . . . . . .BPF. . . . . . . . . .
Bera. Struijk.Jansson.Pearce

. . . . . Vieira. . Rey. . . . . . . .

Ali. . . . . Saiz . . . . . . Hernandez

. . . . . . Grot . . . . . . . . . . .

Wiedwald, Anita, O'Connor, Phillips, Clarke, Ekuban, Dalby.
Thought Struijk has done well for the u23s, O'Connor was poor vs Newport so would prefer to see someone else get a chance.

No more players in the wrong positions, Dallas was a liability vs Fulham and dropping Pearce to play 2 players out of position was poor from Hecky.

Rey has impressed me a lot in the u23s, good on the ball (as youd expect given where he came from ) but also willing to compete and battle with a decent shot on him.

Pablo, Ali and Saiz pick themselves.

And Grot still hasnt had a league start so why not give him one.

Thinking ahead to next season which is why ive not picked Dallas, Sacko and Lassie, 2 arent good enough and one wont be here.

But i expect Hecky to be less brave since he is fighting for his future and doesnt strike me as an experimental coach.

So Philips for Rey.
O'Connor for Struijk
Dallas for Pearce
Lassie for Grot.

Thats what i expect but not what i want.

After the impact he made on Tuesday, I think it would be harsh to drop Phillips for an unknown quantity.
Agree with Pearce though, can see PH playing him at RB, Dallas at LB and Berardi in the middle though.

Just think we should look to the future and i dont think Phillips should be part of it imo.

Could be totally wrong but think Rey will develop beyond Phillips.

Have a horrible feeling your pretty accurate, can fully see Berardi being cb which he isnt quick or tall enough for.

Surely a win today for Hecky's boys

The defence is a major concern with so many injuries & just one recognised CB

Would have Pearce in ahead of Dallas, but probably the strongest team we can put out

Aye sorry about that but as the only non Heck hater on the forum it's probably for the best. I've stopped posting on most football threads as it is

Feels like it, I've been impressed so far with his managerial skills. Probably not the one ultimately but not worth binning yet

'Hate' is a bit strong, faaip, think it's more a case of not rating him and having seen nothing in his tenure so far to suggest he's the right man to take us forward. Quite the opposite, in fact. But holding an alternate viewpoint shouldn't discourage you from posting, counterpoint to a position is always worthwhile and encourages debate

Not sure it's the debate content Nick, more the style of the opposition putting words into others mouths, calling people hypocrites when they're not etc.

I don't think he's the one but I don't hate him for taking the biggest opportunity of his life, others tell us we need to give young inexperienced players a chance but point blank refuse to give a young inexperienced manager more than 2 games, without the personal abuse.
