i've followed the club for about 10 years i'd reckon, since i was 13... and in that time i cant remember liking a centre back as much as i like Pat Kisnorbo...

Radabe was at the end of his time with us when i came on board, but i was instantly aware of his greatness

For me it is between Charlton, Hunter, Madeley, Charles

Charlton was much more of threat in the opposition's area at set pieces, his goalscoring record was terrific for a centre-back playing for Leeds or England, much better than Madeley's so i have to go for Big Jack, he was our only World Cup winner too

Gentle Giant Charles was immense in two positions i would probably choose him in a centre-forward role although i never actually saw him play, i've seen enough video footage to suggest he was our greatest LU player so that will do for me

As for Paul Madeley, we can always have 'Best Substitute Ever' poll, Paul should STROLL it as he was adept in any position he was ask to play in !

I love Kisnorbo & we missed him badly when he got the serious injury in our final L1 campaign, nearly derailed our promotion to the championship i reckon !

Surprised you haven't gone for Ferdinand who was a class act during his career at Leeds playing at the highest level too !

If I can have two and taking no account of whether they could play together.

1. Norman - after TC my favourite Leeds player of all time. Watch the old footage and see why Killa is pointless. Norman took the ball and then strolled into midfield making the extra man. A ball playing centre half is exactly what we require and why my next choice is:

2. Rio - when he joined and stood alongside Lucas the gulf in class was obvious [I love Lucas so please don't jump on my back]. In every way [other than character] Rio was superior - physical/technical/athleticism. He was the best centre half in the world before injury kicked in and his sale gave us a fighting chance of survival. Funnily enough the Mancs always do their best to help us. Over the odds prices for Rio and Smith and sending us their best players [Giles/Strachan]. How can you hate 'em.

Big Jack for everything at Leeds, but also for putting a smile on the face of Ireland when we needed it most.

Norman for showing that you can mix grace and lace.

Big Jack and Lucas for me.

Hunter played mostly left side defence, to cover for TC's runs down the wing. Never considered him a central defender.

I am 38 so the great side of the 60/70's was a bit too soon for me, so I cant really comment on how good the likes of John Charles/Jack Charlton were.

For me Lucas Radebe stands head and shoulders above anyone in my era of supporting leeds. Immense, putting his body on the line, time after time. Just superb. Will always love The Chief :-)

Whilst considering this, One shouldnt underestimate how good and ( under rated ) Chris Whyte and Fairclough were - two relative average players before then, they were immense during our Division 1 winning side.
