I was sure their keeper got his fingertips on that shot. I haven’t seen a decent clip of it to confirm or otherwise.

As with Ampadu, I feel safe with Sean Longstaff in our midfield.

A big lad who doesn't get knocked off the too easily.

Very early days to judge as that was only their second game together and the midfield 3 has been different in every match this season so ot only are those two getting used to each other but everyone is getting used to each other.

Ampadu, Tanaka, Stach
Gruev, Tanaka, Stach
Gruev, Longstaff, Stach
Ampadu, Longstaff, Stach

So far Stach has been the only midfielder to start every match.

I think it will take time for the best midfield trio to really gel and especially for the more attacking two players to dovetail effectively.
I love leeds united, may I never admit to it. :shhh:

Similar players who probably want to occupy the same areas tbf.

I would also guess DF has them on a very tight leash, he's very very cautious and reiterated that in his press conference after.

Wants defensive solidity and safety so the midfield will be told to stay close together I'd guess.

Assist and goal aside, he put in quite a shift today--he has come along quite nicely

Every team needs players like Longstaff to do the dirty work, as they call it. Never going to be the silky skill type of player but im sure he is someone that the other players in the squad are glad we have. The sort of player who gives his all, the type who goes a long way to making the squad the tight knit unit its become.

I think some of our fan's hadn't realised the dirty work Sean put in apart from the silky skills of his goal & assists.

Longstaff put in five tackles you'd expect from our defensive midfielder Ampadu, he made some lovely passes & four of his crosses were on the money.

A fantastic acquisition, he could be the signing of the season come May next year.

In Graham Smyth's post match interview with Daniel Farke.

Both Daniel & Graham thought Longstaff was outstanding & the Man of the Match.

Watching that Longstaff game highlights video really showed he had an excellent game. Definitely a 100% week-in week-out player. I was underwhelmed by his signing but can now see why he was brought in and he has won me over.

Sean Longstaff was the first Leeds United player Opta has on record to create seven chances and win 10 duels in a league game. Covering over 12km per game so far.

Brilliantly, Fish.

One of the first names on the team sheet for me!

A signing that was just what we needed in our midfield.
