Why can't I reply to comments

I might be stupid but why can't I reply to comments or come back to a question raised .

Does this affect all topics or specific topics?

Do you not see the Reply button?

Do you receive any errors?

Yes all topics no reply button and no errors.

I have worked out that if I tap on who I want to reply to I can possible put a comment below but not sure if it would work.

You should see this at the bottom of every page...

Sometimes after a while, you will get logged out, and you'll have to go to the top of the page to log back in again.

Also, unless you have your blockers and trackers on, there's an advert, though its an invisible white box. The tell tale sign is the 'X'. If you click the X, you can type again.
