Never has been.
YOu write that but if a team is counter attacking and don't have a lot of the possession it may be that they aren't actually having to make tackles, blocks, etc. Take teams playing that way against us and we might have 70% of possession but not actually pose much threat (passing it around the back etc). Because you are in the 'natural' defensive position the opposition may not actually target that area of th pitch, which they would if you had gone forward and left a gap.

Put him in a team playing a flat back 4 and tell him not to attack and his positioning and defensive play would improve a lot over the course of the season. Most attacking fullbacks aren't great at defending. Players such as Kyle Walker cost a premium because he has/had the pace to be able to get back more often than most.

I remember Firpo shutting Saka down last time we were in the prem .. He's a good defender when he doesn't have to get back quickly.
Lets see how good Rodon is if he has to play CB and CF at the same time, which is basically what we ask our wing backs t odo

Junior Firpo withdraws from a call-up after experiencing 'minor physical discomfort' since the end of the season.
Reported to training but has since gone home.

Statement adds: 'We deeply appreciate Junior's commitment to the Dominican Republic and to his country.'

It's where he made his name and pretty close to where he grew up when he moved to Spain as a kid so be like going home?

The Betis rumours been around for ages anyhow.

Junior & Mateo moves would seem imminent.

Work going on behind the scenes prior to the incomings.

Not a shock.

Good luck Junior.

Not always been easy but he stuck it out and made a real impact last few seasons.

If he does go at least he goes with his head held high. He was as important as any other player last season in helping us get promoted and his last 2 seasons were excellent.
