Actually waste of time at the moment talking about incoming players as Leeds Utd board will wait until the transfer window opens and this year closes after a short period and then re opens and whilst other clubs buy players we will wait until the last 2 weeks and then bring in players that no other club has been really interested in.

We'll have to wait our turn. We're going from division's richest to one of the divisions poorest both in terms of money, prestige and outlook.... Early signings, if any, will likely be players other teams aren't really looking atpjm2019 wrote: ↑Sun May 18, 2025 9:30 am Actually waste of time at the moment talking about incoming players as Leeds Utd board will wait until the transfer window opens and this year closes after a short period and then re opens and whilst other clubs buy players we will wait until the last 2 weeks and then bring in players that no other club has been really interested in.

His huge wages wouldn't be though.
Don't need an injury prone 33 year old
We have one already

Fully entitled to pessimism where transfers are concerned but I can’t see that happening they will be active now, trying to get agreements in place to green light in June - whether or not we will of heard of them or whether other clubs are interested is another matter entirelypjm2019 wrote: ↑Sun May 18, 2025 9:30 am Actually waste of time at the moment talking about incoming players as Leeds Utd board will wait until the transfer window opens and this year closes after a short period and then re opens and whilst other clubs buy players we will wait until the last 2 weeks and then bring in players that no other club has been really interested in.

Re: 2025 Summer Transfer gossip and squad discussion (and manager)
But we should. Tanaka is a poor DMF imo, better than Rothwell but not in Gruev/Amapadu's class.

Ampedu could play on his own as a holding midfielder but Gruev and Tanaka most likely could not. The best we've had in that role in recent years was Tyler Adams and not Kalvin Phillips who had purple patch during our first season back but hasn't shown that form since. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Tue May 20, 2025 9:44 pm But we should. Opinion and not one I could come close to agreeing with. Adams played under Marsch who didn't use the DMF in the same wayJammy 07 wrote: ↑Tue May 20, 2025 9:54 pm Ampedu could play on his own as a holding midfielder but Gruev and Tanaka most likely could not. IMO... End of the day if Farke wants Phillips it won't have anything to do with sentiment.

Re: 2025 Summer Transfer gossip and squad discussion (and manager)
I know that is where we played him, out of necessity when Ampadu was playing alongside Rondon or was injured etc., but I don't believe that Tanaka is a DMF. Before he arrived here he played much further forward for club and countryThe Subhuman wrote: ↑Tue May 20, 2025 9:44 pm But we should. £4.6 M release clause in his contract. Been compared to Georginio.

Hot off the Locky press…

Re: 2025 Summer Transfer gossip and squad discussion (and manager)
Jesse Marsch must have followed that formula in signing players from the top leagues in Europe (between February 2022 and February 2023).
Brenden Aaronson – Joined from Red Bull Salzburg (Austria) – Austrian Bundesliga – United States
Rasmus Kristensen – Also from Red Bull Salzburg (Austria) – Austrian Bundesliga – Denmark
Tyler Adams – Came from RB Leipzig (Germany) – Bundesliga – United States
Marc Roca – Signed from Bayern Munich (Germany) – Bundesliga – Spain
Luis Sinisterra – Arrived from Feyenoord (Netherlands) – Eredivisie – Colombia
Darko Gyabi – From Manchester City (England) – Premier League – England
Wilfried Gnonto – Moved from FC Zürich (Switzerland) – Swiss Super League – Italy
Maximilian Wöber – Another from Red Bull Salzburg (Austria) – Austrian Bundesliga – Austria
Joel Robles – Free transfer from Real Betis (Spain) – La Liga – Spain
Georginio Rutter – Came from Hoffenheim (Germany) – Bundesliga – France
These were all signed while Marsch was head coach, and they largely reflected his preference for high-pressing, high-energy footballers, often familiar with Red Bull systems.
Leeds were relegated... the formula makes sense, except when it doesn't. and lets not include Koch, Rodrigo and Llorente.
