Again, and no reflection on Leeds, but really weak division this season. Leeds, then 23 teams of roughly the same quality divided by confidence and luck...John in Louisiana wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 2:39 am We're averaging nearly 1.4 goals PER GAME more than our opponents.
Only Sunderland are scoring as many as 1.4 goals per game.

Memories from 1972 will live with me until I pass on.GreennWhite wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 11:02 am Exactly BB. Cant fault that performance, we were at our best yeaterday and made Cardiff look poor, even considering their recent good form. In fairness we could and should have had scorelines similar to yesterdays in games this season, had we taken the many chances that we created. Yesterday was one of those games were it all went right, the more of them in the remaining games the better and we can all relax![]()
The problem is after a game like that, some fans want that thing every game regardless of who we are playing, and we know thats not going to happen.
Fingers crossed for another win against Coventry but we wont get the same freedom against them like we did yesterday.
Leeds beat the that great Man U team 5-1 following up the 7-0 thrashing of Southampton in our next home game. Ironically, we faced Coventry City at ER in anticipation of another massive win. Sadly It didn't come to fruition with Big Jack scoring an early goal & Leeds scraped a 1-0 victory in a drab encounter.
We got a mojo back though in our next two home games though, thrashing Arsenal 3-0 & Forest 6-1.
Exciting times over 50 years ago, just as they are now, Greenn.

A young Cardif fan's view .... At least his day wasn't completely ruined as he met the players, Kinnear and a stadium tour. A lot of swearing though

100% agree, i thought that was also wierd that his dad was there and didnt say anything. I dont mind an adult swearing now and again, but hate anyone who cant put a sentance together without using swear words. My thinking is in the back of the dads mind he is seeing ££££ signs thinking the video his son is doing will be liked by other teenagers and might lead to some pocket money, for the dadOrange Box wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 12:29 pm His dad was with him! They say swearing is a sign of intelligence, one would assume that's swearing in context rather than every other word as habit,

Our superiority in this division is clear and obvious. Just a shame it's not showing more in the table. The way we totally dominated Sheff U and Burnley in those games was obvious too.John in Louisiana wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 2:39 am We're averaging nearly 1.4 goals PER GAME more than our opponents.

I posted earlier - if we'd beat Burnley at ER (as we should have) and not conceded the late Meslier gaff against Sunderland, we'd be 13 points clear of 3rd place now.

It depends what you swallow. Maybe add a little gin to that tonic.Orange Box wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 9:56 am I love love loved yesterday’s game, what a tonic! But … and I can feel the venom against this comment already … one swallow does not a summer make.
Disclaimer: I truly believe we will WIN this league, with this squad. However, the lack of quality in certain positions (and we all know where they are) still needs to be addressed.

Well they should put the full match on YouTube for free. That's the kind of game that will draw in a bigger worldwide fan base.

I think we should be looking at beaking the record this season. That would be my baseline. the best teams heve gotten 98-106 points, Reading being this divisions best team. 110 points should be our targetandrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 4:55 pm Our superiority in this division is clear and obvious. That's interesting because on my watch (single watch admittedly) I didn't think Rothwell contributed a great deal.

Rothwell got through a huge amount of work, most active player on the pitch, way above Aaronson's workrate.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2025 9:07 pm That's interesting because on my watch (single watch admittedly) I didn't think Rothwell contributed a great deal.

I note the harbinger of doom has been absent from all threads since the game yesterday.

The ubiquitous use of unexplainable is inexplicable.
