It should never have been disallowed. The player was stood slightly behind the keeper and to his left, the only players in his line of sight were his own defenders.
Up intil that incident VAR had been used very well. Any situation that it was involved in was made quickly and correctly, they got this one badly wrong.

Agreed, and then the English officials get involved.

Just to clarify that in last nights match is was the referee that disallowed the goal and not VAR.

VAR had to decide if the referee had made a clear and obvious error which in my opinion he hadn't.

The referee was decisive and made the decision as he saw it in real time and for that he should be applauded. Especially as he took the time to quickly consult with his assistant before doing so.

I won't applaud him for getting it wrong.

After watching and pondering the ref is right to disallow the goal. The forward made no attempt to move away from the keeper so as not to interfere with play. If he had quickly moved towards his own half with hands up to gesture acknowledging his offside position then a goal would be correct, but he remained very close to the goalkeeper so offside is correct.

Can't agree with that I'm afraid. Your suggestion would make the decision subjective, opening the door for controversy and error, whereas the rule as it stands is black and white

He wasn't interfering with the goalkeeper, the goalkeeper made absolutely no attempt to get to the ball, he was flatfooted and red faced, yet saved by inept VAR decisions yet again.

This decision was down to the Referee - correct to the letter of the law and thus no clear and obvious error and therefore no intervention by VAR is my understanding mate

Looked at the keeper then looked away as he slid the ball into his own net then blamed the keeper 🫣

A young fan managed to invade the pitch and get a selfie with Ronaldo

There's a video of the kid being chased by the stewards which was hilarious. Couldn't find it. Would be grateful if someone else posts it so I can have another good laugh

I thought it was funny at the time, then got bored of all the other fully grown adults trying to do the same thing.

Said the same thing to my Mrs.

It’s ok (ish) when it’s kids wanting selfies. The nutjobs we’ve got running about these days, knife attacks, acid attacks etc aren’t out of the question.
