Kamara = Defensive Midfielder

I dunno why some want to have a go at him for doing what he is expected to do

Agree that an early goal will settle the nerves. We definitely don't need any more clangers from Meslier, or the defence, as that was our undoing against Derby when we were 2-0 up on aggregate.

It will be tense as hell if they score first, or it's 0-0 for a long time.
Fast start and early goal imo are vital.

We'd fold I think if they scored first and the fans would get more and more frustrated with our slow ploddy football.

Early goal and I think we'd win.

Agreed Ian. I didn’t mention it, but he was also everywhere breaking up play. And his fouls never resulted in yellows. Thought a couple of the fouls against him were unfairly awarded, but he can’t change that.

Just another area reinforcing Kamara as MOTM for me. I await Leon’s analysis…

He isn’t required to sit like Gruev and does get forward, he does great until he reaches the opposition box and then appears to have a crisis of confidence.

Josh Sargent possibly being out on Thursday would be a major boost for us.

The 2nd most clinical striker in the league this season and crucially Norwich are a much worse away team and a much worse team when he doesn't play.

When he starts 45 points from 24 games.

When he doesn't 25 points from 22 games.

Same here Joe, just wish he had the confidence to nail one. Gets into great positions then opts to pass, how many times do we all shout “ shooooot “

I just get the feeling that it's nicely setup now for Norwich to nick it. All the pressure will be on Thursday night home crowd etc.. nerves will defo play into Norwich hands. Can see Norwich nicking it by the 1 goal

Yeah, I'd agree with that.

It's whether Farke and the players get scared and freeze up at the moment of truth. We've had lots of that recently.

Wow, that's dreadful

I thought Norwich were always pretty tame and civil?

Maybe Chelsea, Scum or Millwall in disguise?

Definitely set up today not to lose rather than win.

Given how defensively open we've been recently not the worst idea.

Hopefully a different setup at Elland Road.
This is why I agreed with Farke when he said how it was the start of the season that killed us. It meant that every game we were having to go for the win rather than being able to set up like this and try to control the game and then hopefully find a win.

If we do play the same way on Thursday then hopefully our crowd won't go into early panic mode and make it a nervy night. Against Blackburn it was ridiculous when the cameras were filming the fans who looked a bundle of nerves even in the first half when we were missign chances - it definitely, in my opinion, then gets to the players and make them edgy.

We need to try and control the match, make it so that Norwich don't get a sniff and hope that we can score a goal.
I love leeds united, may I never admit to it. :shhh:

The team that holds their nerve best on Thursday night ( can someone tell Subhuman the games on Thursday night and not Wednesday or Friday, his memory isnt the best any more :) ) will win the game. I cant see it being a high scoring game, its going to be tight.

Like Clacton White said “spear throwers & knuckle draggers”. Well he was referring to Suffolk but I think they’re a little more caveman in Norfolk.

Totally agree, 1000.

Some folk talk up our players as if they are world beaters, we are nowhere near ready for the PL, serious limitations throughout our squad.

Even the likes of Palace, Brentford, Everton, Forest, Fulham, etc would thump us.

DDB220 wrote: Sun May 12, 2024 1:40 pm I honestly hoped Rutter would offer more today. He was the worse player on the pitch, no lack of effort but hardly anything is coming off. That pass to (…cannot recall, but the runner had three defenders around him) when Rutter had acres of space to run into was just symptomatic of a player with zero confidence. On this form and it is hard to imagine he is going to turn this around for the next game, he does not deserve a place in the starting 11.
I'm baffled why Farke persists with him, maybe he feels we haven't got a suitable alternative.

Good news…..

Two people have been arrested following an alleged knife attack on a football fan.
It happened outside Norwich City's Carrow Road ground during the team's Championship semi-final play-off against Leeds United.
It is understood the victim, who suffered a cut to the face, was a Leeds fan.
Norwich City said it was working with police to establish exactly what happened.
Both Norfolk police and the ambulance service have been approached for comment
