There needs to be a signing No 3, a striker asap. Bamford should have been fucked off ages ago. He'll spend most of the season in the physio room as per.

Another good piece of business by the club. Quality over quantity.

His injury could be a blessing in disguise. Hopefully it sends a loud message to the board to finally replace him.

Interesting that Ilan Meslier was featured on LUTV - assuming players are handpicked by the club for the show

He had some very positive words to say about Farke and hopes for the season.

Would assume that to mean that he's staying - barring any big bid coming in

Likely Messlier starts. Am guessing we have signed Darlow as an insurance policy for if Messlier leaves or plays poorly.
I love leeds united, may I never admit to it. :shhh:

Think how boring this forum would be if you did that more often ;-)

If you keep it to a few simple lines I'll probably read more of your posts :duno: maybe.

Only played in our cup matches vs Shrewsbury & Salford

Meslier is our No.1 & has been good under our new goalkeeping coach, he's probably receiving good advice from Darlow too. Meslier now has a solid back four in front of him & has only faced a third amount of the shots he had to deal with in the PL by this time last season.

How are you, Fish?

Good mate, cheers.

Through to the next round of the League Cup, smashed PSG around, 8th in the league. And when we get our team fit I fancy us to go on a bit of a run.

How's everything for Leeds? I know you're in the Playoff spots, but that's about where my knowledge starts and ends.

That about covers it for a good few on here as well. And I’m not discounting myself there.

We are playing some lovely football, we seem to be a cut-above the majority of the other championship clubs.

We've made some excellent signings, although much of this was done when the season had already begun in August, also players going on strike & refusing to play for us, so amongst the turmoil, as a consequence lots of changes with much of our PL squad leaving for pastures new. So, to a certain degree, much of August/ early September fixtures was a settling period for Daniel Farke's new squad.

Good luck for this season, I'm sure Newcastle will go well, Bongo.

You confident of getting play-offs at least?

Can't see us making the CL again this year, even with it likely expanding to 5 spots. Spurs look way better than they were last season. Chelsea will likely have a better season too. Honestly, if we don't embarrass ourselves in the CL, get a good cup run under our belts and end up anywhere between 4th and 8th I'll be happy.

Very very little football for a number of years for Darlow so data is limited.

His last spell as a 1st team goalie was brief on loan at Hull few years ago, only 12 games.

The last time he was a regular number 1 for a season was almost 10 years ago when Newcastle got promoted.

Truth be told his data isn't much better than Mes from then.

Save percentage still under 70% despite only being required to make a few saves a game (same as Mes).

Errors leading to goals about the same.

Sweeper keeper stuff not really a thing then, playing out from the back so Mes ranks better here.

The only area where he seems any sort of discernable upgrade on Meslier is high claims from crosses and set pieces.

But who knows now this is a long time ago.

Whilst I fully understand the Meslier issue is Darlow the answer? If he was that good why has he spent basically his whole career as a backup?

Never left Newcastle for more football just took his wage and kept the bench warm?

I find the backup goalie attitude odd.

But anyhow those are his numbers.

For balance his numbers for Hull were a slight improvement but a very small sample size.

His numbers here for saves and all that are worse than Mes in his limited spell, much worse actually.

Save percentage under 50%

Data not the be all etc I know but does paint a picture and the picture suggests Darlow is unlikely to be much if any sort of upgrade.

Tim Krul is still knocking about, Farke knows him, may be a better option if he is really considering replacing Meslier.
