Interesting that Hjelde played most of the game at LB. Only switched to CB when Mullen went off.

Probably indicates that Farke still sees him predominantly as a LB

I think Hjelde will struggle to get first-team football with Byram & Shackleton performing so well & Firpo back in training.

Two great goals that highlight the team's versatility--we can get them in the back the net in a variety of ways :) A much deserved win!
In Farke we trust...

What on earth are we going to do with Firpo?
Unless the Farke spell wafts over him too and he starts playing football...but can't see him ousting Byrum.

Firpo will be on the bench when he comes back

Sean McGurk needs to go out on loan. He's fast becoming too good for the U21's. Great finish from him. Similar in stature to Summerville.

It feels like Sean has been playing in the U21s for umpteenth years, actually it's only two & a bit seasons, his contract expires in 2024. No appearances in the First XI since his arrival in 2021.

He didn't stand out early on in his time with us but the U23's as they were back then, were very strong.
The second half of last season and so far this, he has looked very good.
That's why he needs to out loan, to see if can do it in a better standard.

Nor should he but I do think he's a good #2 once match fit. Farke called Byram the best left back in the Championship recently
