Off piste a bit, but there were some young lads, from a nearby village, laying those horrible trap things that catch badgers, foxes etc in the woods near us.
A mate of mine, we will call him Mr Smith, lay in wait for the lads one night. He caught them, made them take their shoes off and then shoved their feet into the traps so the traps clamped shut on the lads feet. They begged him to set them free, but Mr Smith told them now they know how the animals feel and left them.
No idea how they got the traps off their feet, but they never came back again.

We had a lad in my local village growing up who was obsessed with killing badgers. He’d kill anything tbh, foxes etc.
I’ve no idea why he had such a hatred of badgers.

Its a couple of years ago we travelled around in a motorhome Cuss. Cracking picturesque place very busy in the towns we drove thru. We parked one night and got then got the passenger Ferry across to a village called Limone in the North West. We didn't stop over in Sirmione but it looks a nice place. We worked our way thru Italy over into Geneva and then over into France.
Re: Post A Photo You’ve Taken
Sounds brilliant, lovely place Limone, took the ferry to Bardolino & then walked the coastal path to Limone. Stunning scenery all around the lake. Because Sirmione is a narrow peninsula it can get overcrowded during the day with other tourists but def worth a visit. Don’t think I would have the b***s to drive in Italy, the roads are full of psychopaths.Leeds1000 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 1:46 pm Its a couple of years ago we travelled around in a motorhome Cuss. We stopped at another small Lake which was absolutely stunning, free parking for the van aswell but i can't remember the place name. Like you say stunning place with all the mountainous regions. That peninsula looks very slim on the map.CUSSIE01 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 3:47 pm Sounds brilliant, lovely place Limone, took the ferry to Bardolino & then walked the coastal path to Limone. wife is reading Dog on it about a detective and his dog. The novel is written from the dogs point of view and it seems that his life is ruled by smells.

Sounds like a good read, I might get that. I remember “Fluke” by James Herbert. A man reincarnated as a dog. Loved it at the time although that was many years ago.Sean_Nile wrote: ↑Wed Oct 11, 2023 8:12 am wife is reading Dog on it about a detective and his dog. We holidayed in Sirmione a few years back, in a hotel by the castle. Like you say very busy, esp at night.CUSSIE01 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 3:47 pm Sounds brilliant, lovely place Limone, took the ferry to Bardolino & then walked the coastal path to Limone. We also took the ferry to Bardolino and had a very strange experience. Weather was lovely one minute, then ,out of nowhere the wind started to build. All the outdoor restaurants on the front hurriedly started to empty the tables and lower the canopies. The wind got really strong for a few minutes , then it disappeared and went back to normal. Not sure what caused it.

Women's weapons of choice in domestic violence... quite a display. Andy Capp cartoon always had the wife at the door with a rolling pin. I read somewhere that steam irons and frying pans as well as rolling pins were the impliments most likely to be used in household attacks by women... perhaps it is when drudgery becomes too much, and it is the first thing that comes to hand that they use.Muppet the Cat wrote: ↑Mon Oct 16, 2023 10:24 pm Interesting wall within this Danish bakery in Cardiff
