I'm going back to 505, I saw them at Sheffield and they were amazing.

Re: A to Z of Pop - Your 3 favourite U2 songs
I'm surprised you're the first person to give 'One' a mention, foxy. I would agree it's one of U2's best songs, although didn't quite make my own top 3.
Whilst it all comes down to personal preference and taste and accepting that no one person's favourite/s is/are more or less valid than anyone else's it does seem strange that when you look at some of the best U2 songs lists out there 'One' features at or near the top on most, whilst 11 O'Clock Tick Tock (which leads this poll) is way down
Rolling Stone - Top 50 U2 songs has 'One' at no.1 and 11 O'CTT at no.29
Guardian - Top 40 songs has 'One' at no.2 andd 11O'CTT is not within the top 40
Vulture - from 234 U2 songs has 'One' at no.6 and 11O'CTT at 36

11 O'Clock Tick Tock is a song for fans who enjoyed U2 from day one. Each to their own, mate.Muppet the Cat wrote: ↑Sat Mar 25, 2023 1:14 pm I'm surprised you're the first person to give 'One' a mention, foxy. I would agree it's one of U2's best songs, although didn't quite make my own top 3.

What a live band, then
Saw them early doors in Manchester, then twice at Wembley Arena & Wembley Stadium in 1987.
I know which concert I enjoyed the most
Hard to beat this :
The Edge at his best

Re: A to Z of Pop - Your 3 favourite U2 songs
Agree it's one of their best, but I wonder if it suffers from being overshadowed by the cover version. Along with Hurt, Johnny Cash made it his own.Muppet the Cat wrote: ↑Sat Mar 25, 2023 1:14 pm I'm surprised you're the first person to give 'One' a mention, foxy.
