Re: Jack Harrison- Leicester made bid
Can’t see him going to Newcastle, especially now they have just signed Gordon.
Time will tell, seems 50/50 on staying or Leicester.

City have a 20% sell on clause on anything over his £11m transfer to us

You make some good points as ever, CjayCjay wrote: ↑Sat Jan 28, 2023 7:31 pm Maybe he wants to go?
Maybe he is sick of being played out of position in a system he doesn't naturally suit?
Maybe he wants a wage rise larger than he should get? Would you want him near the top earners? I certainly wouldn't.
But Newcastle or Villa or Leicester probably could give him £80k a week and not care.
Harrison has been pretty poor for a while, few performances against lower league opposition doesn't change that
Plainly isn't a natural in Marsch system.
If (and God I hope not) Marsch is here to stay then selling Harrison makes total sense if the price is right.
Jack probably realises he's not guaranteed a first-team place with Rutter, Summerville, Gnonto, Sinisterra & the arrival of McKennie on the premises.
I'd keep him until at least the summer if he wants to stay at Leeds.

Rutter and Sinisterra are the big money buys so they will play.1964white wrote: ↑Sat Jan 28, 2023 7:44 pm You make some good points as ever, Cjay

Gnonto and Summerville are the shining and more versatile wonderkids
Aaronson is more natural in the narrow system (all be it in dreadful form) but a Jesse favourite.
Rodrigo is top scorer.
Harrison could be well down the list as you say.
His wage demands are key though, he definitely doesnt deserve top earner status.
If he can get £70,80k elsewhere then why stay?
And he is plainly struggling in this style, Marsch doesn't use wingers.

Re: Jack Harrison- Leicester made bid
Problem is if he is unsettled, we can only sell at a price other teams who want him are willing to pay. If we keep hold of him his value will constantly decline unless he signs a new contract.
It is unlikely he will as he can negotiate better wages if he is sold below market worth. Leicester may increase their bid, but it needs more suitors to get anywhere near 30 million.
The question is do we need him, if the answer is yes we try and tie him down. Personally I would keep hold of him until the end of the season. Chances are he will play out of his skin to get a better move in the summer. I doubt we will lose that much if the best we can get right now is 20 million.
Re: Jack Harrison- Leicester made bid
I think there is a good chance Everton may come in for him.

Wages .
A more suitable style.
Harrison is a winger playing in a side whose manager doesn't use them.
Leicester would pay him £80k a week plus.
I'd be mortified if we did.

I think it was one of those moments where you think 'I'm gonna look a right d*ck if I celebrate too wildly given how inferior our opposition are (league wise rather than performance wise).'
Re: Jack Harrison- Leicester made bid
Top performance from Jack against the League One strugglers
A fantastic strike at long last.
A couple of great passes, the one to Rutter sublime.
Lovely cross for Sinisterra to smash in our 3rd goal.
His overall work rate was excellent in the middle of the park.
More please, Jack.

And with the confirmation of our offer for Nicolò Zaniolo it makes you think.

Re: Jack Harrison- Leicester made bid
I prefer him to stay.
We stay in the league this season ( just) and we have reason to get a better suited more expansive manager in, then Harrison can shine.
Then we make europe and we will need the squad.
Wishful thinking.

Bookies seem to have it around to stay Leeds 1/2, and go to Leicester 7/4.
