The Leeds United starting 11 polls - Left Back

Post by The Subhuman »

Firpo is fit again while Struijk, a more defensive option has been playing very well. Hjelde the compromise and Dallas is there for those who think he should regain his place once fully fit, probably in the new year. They're all valid starters at the position, each with their own strengths and weaknesses

Most difficult position to contemplate right now.

I want to see Pascal as one of our CB's so I would take a punt on Hjelde as I'm not at all convinced on Firpo producing the goods.

Dallas to be used in centre-midfield when he is fit again.

Hjelde for me. Pascal has done ok in there, but he's a CH and that's where I'd like to see him playing. Firpo might be a second season wonder, but I suspect he's an able wingback in a 5, but a liability in a flat back 4. Stuarty Dallas, if he comes back the same player, is best off central mid for me.

Firpo will start there when fit and I really hope he can do a job there.

I wonder what so many are convinced by Hjelde he has very few attacking credentials just like Struijk.

I fear we will end up with Dallas though.

Counterintuitive but Firpo. Let’s see what he can and can’t do.

Hjelde, with Struijk/Koch at CB, Rasmus at RB and Llorente having hopefully an extended period of sitting and watching.

I know. I think Kenny changed my post😀
I’m convinced Hjelde has a bit of class about him and can cover LB. Pascal moves inside. But bugger it let’s give Firpo a chance. I’m going to lie down, I don’t feel well 🤥

Consider his poor attributes
Can't tackle.
Often gets caught out of position.
A walking red card.
A yellow card every other game.
Can't shoot when in an attacking position.
Injury prone.

I'm sorry I expect better than that for a player that cost us £15 million.

Don’t be sorry.
He gets a few games to cut it then it’s Hjelde. Or maybe Pascal stays put if Coops is coming in.
We’ll find out soon thank goodness

Dallas when fit.
Would like to see Hjelde at left CB in the future and Pascal as cover, his lack of pace is a problem otherwise a good defender.
Firpo as an attacking wing back is fine but defensively poor.

Grim list.

A total expensive flop.
A centre back
A near 32 year old ex winger with a potentially career ending/changing injury.
Or a kid.

Pfft erm

Firpo because it just will be.

Firpo was atrocious in the Villa home game last season, not many pluses on the night but Junior was awful.
