We've only made a profit on Davis, the rest have been given away for free. That £1m doesn't make a dent in the £40m odd we've spent. When we have no money to improve the first team, then it becomes an issue.

I'd rather have spent that kind of money on improving coaching and development at the academy, so we can go back to producing our own talent.

Illan Meslier and Pascal Strujik both signed as 23's. That covers your 40 million. And we've accumulated several more that will bring good fees in future. No we haven't collected the money yet, but those junior signings are funding the future improved stature of the first team.

If we lose £500k on 8 out of 10. That's £4m.

If we make £5m profit of 2 out of 10. That's £10m.

Throw in a super find like Meslier and the business model makes a lot of sense
We've been through it all together. And we've had our ups and downs

Meslier was a first team signing not a u23, he was BPF's replacement. He played u23s for fitness reasons as he wasn't getting a game.

You're just speculating, no guarantees they will make it to the first team, and if so their future value decreases.

Gyabi is very hyped up on here, but Kenneh played at a higher level and he was let go for nothing.

My only point is that the U23 signings make us more money than we lose. It only takes a couple to be a success to outweigh the many who don't make it.

Only if they play first team football. Aaronson is 21 and has had regular football for example. Playing u23/u21 or being loaned out to League One/Two won't increase their value.
