What I find interesting is the transfer of memes around the word through social media, and that the same themes and conspiracy theories are replicated on opposite side of the pond, but given their own regional twist.

Compare the ideas of True Geordie and Awaken with JP a Brit and a Yank... and how much have they stolen from each other, and how much of it can you believe?

Our opinions or biases are formed by the media that we consume or the television channels we watch, if they are either right wing or left wing... whether it is the Daily Mail or the Guardian or our own political leanings.

You will hear compelling arguments from both sides, but ultimately you have to make up your own mind about a situation... and if you cite the wrong media source, it can be dismissed as too right wing or too left wing, or quote the wrong commentator then they can be laughed off as being unreliable, or a sex offender, or wanting to sell you colloidal silver.

The democrats have demonized Trump by taking him to court, painting him as a felon and saying that he is a fascist, or that he'll end democracy and it's best that he would be taking out. He's a Hitler and the world would be better off without him... and someone will surely rise to the challenge.

While the republicans are painting a picture that he is under God's protection since he survived an assassination attempt.

For others it is seen as a commercial opportunity as they are printing t-shirts of a triumphant blooded Trump standing fist raised and defiant. One Chinese entrepreneur boasting that he sold 2,000 t-shirts within 2 hours of having them printed.

It's the world's biggest circus and for that you need the world's biggest clowns.

It's not a case of left or right. It's a case of basic human decency. It is clear from Trumps entire life and what he says and doesn't say - he doesnt have a shred of it. But that is typical for a diagnosed sociopath.

It's also not a case of media manipulation if you focus on the data and the facts. What he says and doesn't say.
He isn't a Republican - he and his acolytes (Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Bobert, ??!) are an insult to real conservatives and Republicans - McCain as my best example. And look at what Trump called him.

But he will get back into the white house, and the continued sad decline of American democracy will be complete.
Maybe it's like an alcoholic - can only improve and rebuild once they've hit rock bottom.

I really don't think Trump is a Republican. He used to be a Democrat. His daughter certainly leads towards left wing ethos. I honestly think Trump just put himself in front of the party that would put him in a position of power - for his own wealth and greed. I don't believe Trump is behind any of that right wing dogma. He just joined the party that will make him president.

It sure is scary stuff going on in the US now. Democracy has been under threat for some time. The supreme court is run by MAGA people. A decision which totally went under the radar was making bribing officials legal, as long as its done after the act being paid for. There are 2 reasons for this decision. Bribing of the courts judges (Aito and Thomas), and that the rich and powerful prosper from corruption.

Flocking courts with partisan politicians disguised as judges is vital in the process away from a democracy.

A president can now do whatever he wants without fearing the law. Trump would not even be allowed to stand for election if the constitution was followed. Bolsanero wasn't allowed in Brazil after his Trump inspired coup. So Brazil is more lawful than the US, who allows a convicted criminal who is also a coupmaker to stand.

Its on the path to being just another corrupt dictatorship. There probably won't be a fair election there anymore after Trump wins. Putin will be happy, he is showing his support for Trump all the time.

It how those with severe personality disorder (sociopath or psychopath) think and perceive. Its also why he absolutely cannot take any criticism.
(Sadly - our likely next Prime Minister up here next year is not dissimilar. We have no idea what he stands for - only that he will go against anything Justin Trudeau says - he knows Trudeau is wounded and he is smelling blood. But ask him about his policy direction and he is vague beyond belief. He simply wants the power. But at least our parliamentary system is likely to not give him a majority (I hope!). Even though Trudeau must go - I fear this clown in our highest office when Trump is in yours.)

The real frightening part is how the Grand Old Party has absolutely capitulated to Trump - anyone who tried to resist has been bullied out.

He will spend 4 years (and maybe more) using all the power of the state and the office to get revenge on those who resisted and went against him over the past 8 years.
It is going to be up to Europe to stem the tide of Putin and his type.

Regarding the justice system it would seem that the democrats by bringing all the law suits against Trump were not averse to lawfare.

It is no use the pot calling the kettle black because they are both using the same methodologies to be besmirch one another... and it has to stop.

They go at each other on moral grounds. Trump is a sex offender. Corrupt money from a gas company in Ukraine, through Hunter, finds its way to the big man. They are painting each other black with the same brush.

The true definition of a dilemma is where you have two choices and both of them are equally terrible. That is where the American people find themselves.

Because historians say, just as John Lennon's "war is over if you want it' ended the war in Viet Nam, so "Hitler has only got one ball" was a major contributing factor to bringing WWII to a close.
