Re: RATE THE REF - Robert Jones (Match 9: Wolves (H) - Sat 23/10/21)
In our WhatsApp group I’d said in the first half I thought he was having a decent game and trying to let things flow, however in the second he just let Wolves get away with more and more by which time they were kicking lumps out of us, the Raph foul could easily have been a red but the player should have gone off later for a second yellow that the ref then bottled 3/10
A bumble bee under the laws of physics shouldnt be able to fly, but it does because no one has told it that it can't

He should have given Saiss a red and let them away with murder, time wasting, diving, feigning injury, you name it.

My rating of 3 is a tad generous.

As I mentioned in faaip's MOTM thread only saw the last half an hour, so can't judge the first hour. He did give us the pen, but seemed to let a lot of time wasting tactics from Wolves go.......I've seen 90yr olds walk quicker than they managed to leave the pitch yesterday and then instances of cramp seemed to be breaking out all over. Will go a 4/10

Genuinely atrocious, laughable inept and potentially dangerous to everyone on that pitch.
To allow the level of cheating and play acting by the Wolves players was to run contrary to everything that was more or less agreed about what would be different after the Euro’s. Normal contact should be allowed, if someone falls over let them get up, but let the play flow. Otherwise players can kill a game, slow opponents momentum and annoy the shite out of fans - all of which happened.
The lads on the Square Ball podcast also raised a very good point. If there is constant cheating by players like Coady and Jimenez going down holding their heads, then genuine cases of head injury are less likely to be recognised early. Jimenez of all people should know the danger of this.

Re: RATE THE REF - Anthony Taylor (Match 10: Norwich City (A) - Sun 31/10/21)
Dreadful I thought. Fell for every Norwich dive. At HT on the `BBC website stated that this was the game with the most fouls this season. IMO Norwich were far more physical yet we have 4 bookings compared to their 1. 2/10 IMO. The standard of reffing in England is quite frankly disgraceful these days.

Re: RATE THE REF - Anthony Taylor (Match 10: Norwich City (A) - Sun 31/10/21)
Pathetic refereeing, he wanted to be bigger than the game, giving away too many free-kicks , also buying into Norwich' diving and time wasting, 4 Leeds players booked !!
3/10

Why is removing your shirt an automatic booking? Not England’s fault that Raphinha was booked, by convention and possibly by the laws (I don’t know) he had to, but it makes no sense. Can only remember being annoyed at him perhaps three times during the game so I suppose that’s slightly better than average - 5.5/10
