Last friendly and I'll probably miss this one too as it's a Saturday evening. I'd like to see something closer to the team that will start v Manure but I'm not expecting it.

Re: Pre-season Games - Villarreal v Leeds
I actually think he might put his best team out, barring Llorente is injured, again
So I though about who he'll play next week, and I have to say Rodrigo may not get a start
My team would be:
Meslier (as long as he stops with the Kiko impressions)
Ayling (Please never again at CB)
Koch (He's a CB)
Stuijk (Starts ahead of Cooper every time for me)
Firpo (As long as he hasn't got relaxed alongside Forshaw)
Phillips (Our best and most important player)
Dallas
Klich
Raphinha
Bamford
Harrison
Subs:
Klaeson
Cooper
Rodrigo
Cresswell
Shackleton
Roberts
Forshaw (Dunno if he'll make it back, or if he does how long he'll be fit and available?)

Re: Pre-season Games - Villarreal v Leeds
Could Bielsa go to his old preferred formation with 3-3-1-3 tonight?
Could solve some problems we have. He could play Cooper but also Struijk and Llorente/Koch. Phillips in front of the defenders. So maybe not give away easy goals through the middle. Firpo and Ayling as wingbacks.
Rodrigo or Klich more attacking, this could bring Rodrigo closer to Bamford and closer to the goal. Raphinha and Harrison on the wings.

Re: Pre-season Games - Villarreal v Leeds
Whatever formation we go with I think the performance will be so important as this should be the team that will face scum next week. Too many have looked a bit lethargic so far and FFS cut out the silly mistakes! We will be given a stern test tonight and though these are only friendlies" I would rather be winning them than losing!
Not sure what MB has learnt from these games so far other than without KP we are extremely vulnerable through the middle of the park as we already knew.
Hope Summerville can be given a few minutes as I really like the look of this kid- he offers the x factor and is a game changer with his pace and directness and trickery, the total antithesis of Costa IMO
Play players in their proper positions and we will come good- After last season there should be no one in the PL to be afraid of- we are more than capable of beating anyone on our day.
Can't wait for the season to finally get going! MOT

Cooper, Koch and Struijk start, Phillips has to make do with the bench. Dallas at left back, Firpo injured.

So that’s probably 4-1-4-1 with Struijk in midfield I guess.

Looks like it. Back to the right/left in defence which means Struijk and Koch swap in defensive midfield.

We've taken them all seriously in terms of line-up. Just not sure what Bielsa's aims are from pre-season. Does he prepare for them in the same way as a league game or does he go out there with the aim of trying and evaluating certain things.

Re: Pre-season Games - Villarreal v Leeds
is it true then the rumours flying around that Llorente is injured??
Re: Pre-season Games - Villarreal v Leeds
Surprised Kalvin is not starting
Re: Pre-season Games - Villarreal v Leeds
Once again one of our new signings is injured, both Firpo & Llorente missed two preparation games now.

Yep, 2-3 weeks. Might be back for Burnley.
