:-D

Born and raised in SA, moved to Oz in my mid-twenties. My only connection with England is my support of Leeds, as my best mate at school's mum was from Leeds and I followed his lead to support the mighty Whites (Leeds, not apartheid).

I reckon we will see a new Olympic record by the end of the women's 1500m heats today.

Apparently the Canoe Slalom final was today, but you wouldn't know it as the BBC have not even mentioned it. They love showing Gymnastics and Taekwondo non stop.

I think the BBC can only show a couple of events this time due to the Discovery Channel or someone bizarrely similar having the rights.

I've had it on all day as working from home, but they keep repeating the same sports on the highlights. Then again, I guess they will only show sports where Britain are likely to medal.

They had some bloke on the other day he looked like he was in his 30s

You'd think he would grow up.

Speaking of sport not quite appropriate for the medium. During the 2000 Olympics here in Sydney, I thought I'd take a break from the telly and have a rest listening to the coverage on the radio. At one point they were covering the shooting.

Was watching some of the surfing earlier, looked pretty cool. But surely it's based on weather and climate? Not sure how easy it would be to go surfing in France for 2024?

Looks like Simone Biles is out of the team gymnastics final due to an undisclosed injury.

That is a real shame.
