Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo has tested positive for Covid-19 two days before Portugal's Euro 2020 opener against Hungary.

Cancelo has been placed in isolation and Portugal coach Fernando Santos has replaced the 27-year-old with Manchester United's Diogo Dalot for the European champions' first game in Budapest on Tuesday.

I think I would rather back the Shetland pony if a choice , Southgate wouldn't be anywhere near that .

France forward Ousmane Dembele will miss the rest of Euro 2020 after suffering a knee injury.

Dembele came on as a second-half substitute during his team's 1-1 draw with Hungary on Saturday but had to be replaced after 30 minutes.

"Ousmane Dembele had an X-ray at the Budapest hospital on Sunday night," the French Football Federation said in a statement on Monday.

From the 30 minutes I saw of Dembele, he's quick but he gives the ball away far too cheaply with poor passing

Billy Gilmour has tested positive for Covid-19 and will miss Scotland's crucial Euro 2020 match with Croatia on Tuesday.

The Chelsea midfielder was a standout as Steve Clarke's side drew 0-0 with England on Friday on his first start.

The Scottish FA currently say there are no close contacts identified from inside the camp, with 25 players fit to face Croatia.

So how come none of the other Scottish players have tested positive?

Because the PCR test is crap and gives many false positives.

Scotland waited 23 years to qualify for a tournament and produced 1 goal and 1 point at least theyve got an open topped bus tour to celebrate a 0-0 against England ,let's hope its another 23 years before they qualify for anything again😂oh and of course thanks for the point that went towards our qualification 👍

Wow! I truly hope your emojis indicate this post is a joke otherwise one could interpret it as evidence of a narrow minded attitude.
You would damn the Scots to another 23 years in the international wilderness, really?
Remember Bremner? Gray? Lorimer? How about Jordan? McQueen? Strachan? MacAllister? A strong Scotland is reflected in a strong United, we have nurtured the best over the years and benefited at the highest levels.
The SPFL, of course, is a joke (led by an Englishman who I’m sure has an attitude like the one you portray in your post) and the mickeymouse leagues will never on their own be able to supply enough quality players for a national team, but that doesn’t mean Scotland can’t supply good prospects to be developed south of the border, and a Scotland that can donate players and borrow them back to build a strong international squad will (as can be seen right here, right now, with our open top bus celebrations) generate interest in youngsters who might, just might, go on to kick a fitba and live a clean life with like minded mates instead of sticking a needle in their arm or swilling a bottle of Buckie.
Bill Shankly is famous for telling us how important football is, and socially that is a lesson we shouldn’t forget.
WARNING: During game time, any post I make is not to be taken seriously, neither is it meant as offence. I'm a hot-blooded creature prone to moments of exasperation and expletive.

It's a weird one, I think that given the quality of Scotland's squad (the best team they've put out in many years imo) they showed the true quality of that squad against England. I can't help but feel that if they put as much effort into their other games that they did against us then they'd be through.
