FA Cup Thread.

The third round draw takes place tomorrow night at around 7.10pm.

Who do you want?

Should we go for it this season?

Who do you think may win it?

Does the FA Cup still hold the same feelings for you as it once did?

It has lost some of its magic to me mate I have to confess... but I think we need to make a determined effort at a good cup run this year....

The FA Cup doesn't hold the same appeal for me as it once did but yes we should absolutely should try and win it this season.
I definitely do not want a non-league side.

Expecting a 3rd round exit as usual, just hope we're not embarrassed by a lower league club. I'd love to see us try and have a run and try and win the cup, but I won't hold my breath!

It's never held much magic for me because we never bloody get anywhere in it. I'd like to see us make a decent fist of it this time though. First and foremost comes league safety which, while I don't think we will have anything to worry about on that score but still.. Lets have a couple of micky mouse teams in the 3rd and 4th rounds, avoid the banana skins and by that time the league position should have guaranteed safety thereby allowing us to field strong sides in the rest of the cup. I'd hope MB sees it the same way. So on that basis, Chorley at ER in R3 will do just fine.

With the cup competitions the club probably take it one game at a time, play your best team on the day, injuries allowing.

Not much magic for me, but we must absolutely go for it. Valuable game time for bench players and even perhaps a surprise call up for Gelhardt or Greenwood to impress and show what they've got.

Who do you want?

I nice easy game to give a run out to some of the fringe boys.

Should we go for it this season?

Yes. And i think Marcelo will. We should be ok for survival so its our best chance of winning something. We have a cup game mentality in every game. :)

Who do you think may win it?

For the first time in a long time we should be a contender. Why not?

Does the FA Cup still hold the same feelings for you as it once did?

Only if the fans get to go to Wembley.

Hopefully we will be in a position where there are no excuses for not going for it. Last couple of seasons the priority had to be to not risk any injuries that could derail our league campaign. This season the main priority is avoiding relegation so hopefully we are looking comfortable on that score come January and also unlikely that we would be in a position where finishing as high up the table as we can really matter (i.e. not going to get a euro spot so league position, apart from the prize money, doesn't really matter).

Would be nice to have a cup run, the 1987 run to the semif final, and extra time heartbreak, still lives long in my memory. If I remember rightly we beat Telford, Swindon, QPR and Wigan before losing to Coventry so had a fairly easy run with QPR and Coventry being the only top flight teams. Amazing to think that we couldn't muster a cup run under Wilko, Graham or O'Leary apart from the solitary League Cup final where we forgot to turn up against Villa.

Unfortunately the FA Cup has lost it's sparkle although I would love Leeds to walk up those Wembley steps & see us hold the cup aloft once again :cup

My sentiments too!

Too many bad memories which have left a bitter taste in my mouth.

I'll never forgive Garry Monk

I'd like to think this season it would be nice . Personally .........YES . It's a long time since Allan Clark headed that winner at Wembley . A fair few generations of Leeds fans have never seen that , I'm lucky enough to have watched it live on TV . I think the fans would love a cup run .

Rooney being eliminated by Chorley would be highly amusing. Marine v Spurs, Jose already moaning about the pitch no doubt.

Would be sod's law that we finally get a home tie when there's no fans allowed.

Our last 7 ties have been! Last home tie was v Rotherham in January 2016 under Evans.
