The only reason they are resigning is to save the owners or the clubs sanctions so they can be assigned the blame. They will be receiving massive golden handshakes. Hopefully also golden showers from the supporters.

Is it not going to happen?
That is so confusing. According to the clubs involved they were doing it to save the game, for women's football and for the grassroots of the game. Are these altruists no longer interested is such noble deeds?

Re: Big six proposal
Comparisons to American football don't work. The only league lower than the NFL is college football, and the players there can play professionally ONLY in the NFL. The owners hold all the cards. The draft system works because the players have no options.
But even with that system, the NFL is far from competitive. Only twenty of the 32 teams have ever won a Super Bowl, and six have won only once. Four teams have never even gotten to the championship game.
Kudos to the millions of fans around Europe - and in England in particular - who are rising up to put a stop to this monstrous project.
And English football is vastly superior to the American version.

A Florentino Perez "masterclass" crumbles in 2 days
Re: Big six proposal
The main ringleaders in all this have been Real Madrid & Manchester United. Never forget that.
The Glazer's & Woodward chief architects.
Manure have self-inflicted even more hate on themselves

We could go down in history as the only team to play a European Super League team!

As quickly as it started it falls apart!
But Chelsea, Man City and co should not walk away of this without punishment. This is the second time in a year they have tried to hijack our game, they should suffer the consequnces.

I say unto you, that even so there shall be joy in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine righteous persons, who need no repentance.

Re: Big six proposal
I agree. We had a £250,000 fine imposed for bringing the game into disrepute for "spying" hmmmm massive fines plus points deductions for the "BIG 6" is the only response!!
I'm going back to 505, I saw them at Sheffield and they were amazing.
Re: Big six proposal
Wonder if we will see punishment for the clubs involved. Think about it. The fans of these clubs have made it clear they didn't want any part of the ESL. It was as much the pressure they exerted that has caused these cave-ins. Would it be right to deduct points, or exclude their teams from competitions? It would be a kick in the teeth for their fans. I can see fines, but nothing more.
Re: Big six proposal
It's a huge conundrum now. Whilst I agree that fans and players should not be penalised for the decisions the owners of these clubs made, they absolutely must be punished in a meaningful way. What that is, I don't know. BUT it has to be remembered that fans and players are not at fault when teams go into administration and receive points deductions, so there's no excuse not to go down the points deduction route here. I think the league's and associations will be scared to overly-punish them, as at the end of the day, they still hold a lot of power when it comes to generating income for aforementioned leagues and associations.
