No, we don't. But I look at this game as a steep learning curve in the Premier league. Remember, our opponents today won the European Cup season before last and are defending premier League Champions. We have held our own, just a couple of silly penalties have 'done' us
Absolutely Swannie we matched it with one of the best team's in the world.
We keep playing like that and we will be nearer the top than the bottom.
Our players proved their quality.
Un Marcelo Bielsa, solo hay un Marcelo Bielsa. Gracias Marcello. Marsching on together.
rodrigo rodrigo rodrigo...what were you thinking?! absolutely horror show there. I hope we get a lot more for our money eventually!
Decent performance that though, dipped a bit in the second half but not bad at all, well battled! Some of the boys out there will be very disappointed with rodrigo I imagine
If we learn from what we didn't do too well at this evening, and put that into practice we will have a very good season indeed.
Not going to criticise any individual as it is a steep learning curve they all are on.
Well done and look forward to the next game.
for anyone claiming that last pen was not a pen - what are you watching?! one of the clearest pens I've ever seen - can we please stop being so biased it's getting boring
Brilliant first performance against the best of the premier league. Liverpool were better but we played really well. Consider that we scored 3 goals from open play. They didn't have any - 2 pens, a corner, and a free kick

I just hope Rodrigo can put the mistake behind him and crack on. Can't afford to ruminate. Just looking at his pace and power in the press, he's going to come good I reckon - providing he can come up with the goods in front of goal.
Hard to take that one. 2 penalties, one of which was a joke, and a foul from Van Dijk for the second. I can begrudgingly accept dodgy refs in the Championship as there's no VAR, but to not even bother to check the first penalty was borderline arrogance from the ref. Not bad considering we had no pre -season and played the best team in the league. I honestly think we'd have taken it if fans were there, our fans would be singing and the Liverpool would've been edgy.

No captain, new CB, inexperienced other CB, all against that Champions League-winning front line? I'm happy all things considered.
Think taking Klich off may have been the wrong decision we didn't have the same threat without him and that's normally the case. Rodrigo was in the box as that's what MB asks for but he's not a defender yet, will be, but not yet

He was scared to have his arms out thanks to the first penalty.

Won't say anything bad about anyone in this game; not our side, not Liverpool, and not the referee. All performed admirably, in my opinion.

Taken a bit of a clattering, not sure if that was a factor but I agree

Second was, first wasn't!
Not sure what the laws are now on the first was second was poor from Rodrigo.
' "Football is about the people and the players,” he said. “Then there are those who will mingle in the middle: the coaches, executives and journalists. That last group represents the worst part about football" Marcelo Bielsa

Second was, first wasn't!
according to the letters of the law it is - there's no rule about it taking a deflection or how fast the ball comes at him. his arm was in an unnatural position and blocked the ball...you can't be having your arm up there it gives you an unfair advantage - you can't raise your arm! both were penalties (first is unfortunate, second clear as day)
