Premiership 2020/21
Not much money spent so far by the premier league clubs as I suspected would be the case in these surreal times. Citeh the biggest spenders!
Ferran Torres [Valencia - Manchester City] £20.87m
Nathan Ake [Bournemouth - Manchester City] £40m
Kostas Tsimikas [Olympiakos - Liverpool] £11.7m
Mohammed Salisu [Real Valladolid - Southampton] £10.9m
Matheus Pereira [Sporting Lisbon - West Brom] £9m
Aaron Ramsdale [Bournemouth - Sheffield United] £18.5m

Re: Premiership 2020/21
I wonder if this situation will bring about a reduction in the escalation of transfer fees.

Makes for worrying reading if we're about to splash £40m euros.

Re: Premiership 2020/21
Outside of tier one Prem it's all a little tricky. Teams are struggling for money because of Covid and as such are trying to force large fees out of teams with a bit of money to spend. When that happens you are forced to wait which in turn has a knock on affect for us of being unable to upgrade the team in a hurry.
Patience will win the day but that may lead to a slow start for us. What we needed more than any club was a full pre season but we ain't getting it..

The difference is we have to spend money though. I guess the knock on effect will be teams will think they are safe automatically without improving and they will get complacent. Watford finished 9th and went down the following season, the same with Bournemouth. Anyone outside the top 6 could easily go down and be dragged into a scrap.
We have money from TV money, Adidas, SBOTOP coming in, not like we're Championship paupers anymore.

We do and they know it hence asking 50M for Ben and 30 for a couple of others. There's always a negotiation to be had though and that might including walking away for a while and coming back later.SG90 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 11:55 am The difference is we have to spend money though. We're guaranteed £94m for finishing bottom. I read somewhere that games on Sky are £1m, let's be honest we'll have about 20 games on, so that'd be another £20m guaranteed before including Adidas, SBOTOP, shirt sales etc.
Re: Premiership 2020/21
Koch and Rodrigo would be two impressive signings for a newly promoted club. They're both internationals for big nations and are playing in top 5 leagues. Better than spending £20m on Championship players.

Chelsea have signed England left-back Ben Chilwell from Leicester on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Re: Premiership 2020/21
Good to see Lampard being outed as a chequebook manager, throw in Havertz and it's over £200m on four players. Zero excuses for him this season.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has tested positive for coronavirus, says France manager Didier Deschamps.
The 27-year-old will have to self-isolate for 14 days.
He will miss France's Nations League game in Sweden on Saturday, 5 September and the home game against Croatia three days later.
However, Pogba could be eligible for selection for United's Premier League opener against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on 19 September.

Tbf Chelsea have done some great business.
Dont get the impression Lampard has anything to do with it, Roman and his right hand lady handing him players left right and centre.
He has taken 2 clubs backwards and yet had untold praise.
This season will show if he is able to be a manager imo. Chelsea have backed him now extremely well, Roman expects trophies next season.

Getting fired for not being able to win anything when all handed to him on a plate, will be the least of his worries...if he pisses of the Russian big boys ... it would make my dayCjay wrote: ↑Thu Aug 27, 2020 11:31 pm Tbf Chelsea have done some great business.
