....And now County Cricket joins the list of Covid victims
Season start postponed till at the earliest end of May.
Which means the schedules will never be fulfilled.
What a real annus horriblis we are having

Was hoping to go watch Yorkshire at Headingley & Scarborough in the summer

It's just a pity that all the people who would have got future immunity after having the virus the first time around now won't, because they have been kept in an artificial and unsustainable (and very leaky) cocoon.
It's impossible to predict what will happen to the world's population, but panic will not help.

Was only a matter of time
Football should be in a position to deal with this well provided those at the top support the clubs at the bottom. Sports such as Rugby League and County Cricket I fear for.

It's amazing what a good heart and lungs can do to ward off nasties.
I think this nasty disease has been overstated and I look forward to when people are saying "welll, it wasn't so bad".

The financial implications are already hitting for many, lower league clubs laying off non-playing staff etc

This is an easy fix for cricket...cancel the 4 day season. Once the all clear has been given then go full baseball on the 20/20 stuff. Games most days, double headers at weekends and holidays. A big league with end of season playoffs and a multi game final series. Two Divisions - North and South - 10 teams in each, play each other twice in division, play the other division once - 28 games plus playoffs
Will draw the crowds in

Shame for us traditionalists but a great idea Faaip, you should be elected to the ECBfaaip wrote: ↑Sat Mar 21, 2020 10:09 am This is an easy fix for cricket...cancel the 4 day season. 4 day cricket is dying anyway but I prefer the traditional stuff. We've ditched 50 over cricket already. Hopefully the CC will return but if the season starts late and with priority for the short form now as that's what brings in the money, we're not getting a full season in. No point starting what you cannot finish and the season unlike other sports is weather dependent
Not sure where test cricket goes if 4 day cricket dies ...
