If you go back and read about Gray from Watford and Burnley fans the issue is clear.

He is an off the shoulder, run the channels sort of striker.

His weakest area is his link play and hold up play, plus he is a striker only.

Would he score goals? Almost certainly.

But would MB pick him, doubt it, he is an Nketiah clone.

IMO easily. But I think Bamford's level is league one, a Billy Paynter clone..Maybe a half decent CF3 at our level
I wanted to flash this watch, I flash it all the time. It's my antique pocket watch and it makes me look British...and I need that for my analysis. It is a gorgeous gold pocket watch however and I'm very proud of it. You see my grandfather, on his death bed, ..sold me this watch!

Gray now reported to be following Bamford, Dallas and White on Twitter.
Read into it what you will.

If he knows how to score goals he'll do for me .It's down to the rest of the team to keep the goals out but a CF needs to score goals !

Watford fans giving him huge flack again.

Unfair, i dont know but always worries me when their is almost universal desperation to get rid of a player.

No way, his work rate is fantastic, it's just his finishing, with a proven goal scorer, Bambi can play at no 10

I wouldn't.

This is different level to Bamford tbh.

The Watford fans i can only compare it to Steve Morison, Noel Hunt levels of desperation.

Hate is to strong a word but its not encouraging in the least.

Adams, Poveda, Sharp, McGoldrick, they all had some fan support.

Gray seems to have none, some sympathy maybe as a person but as a player its totally get rid asap.

Probably not helped by him being their record signing and direct competition for club legend Troy Deeney tbf.

Players will perform differently in another team. He may be a world beater for us...or he may not. Nobody knows .

But if barn door could play at No 10 would not MB have done that with Eddie as 9 whilst he was here?

don't dislike paddy , his work rate and hold up play at times is excellent but his finishing is absolute rank and is paid on the whole to score goals.
tbh we all know we need better but i wouldn't get rid . only the other week against wba he came off the bench and completely changed the game .

he's a backup striker at best. Not sure how he'd do in a deeper role, not sure we'll ever find out.

Paddy the baddie will still be playing against Millwall. He is not going anywhere.

So true. If you look at our team it is only a couple of years ago that most fans would have got rid of a lot of them yet with a proper manager they play a lot better. I think a few of our players would really struggle if they went to other teams.

And I have Bamford as another Billy Paynter, so ditto the Morrison thing

Are they? His work rate just seems to involve lumbering attempts at closing down..Remember how many errors Roofe used to force with his work rate and closing down...can you think of many Paddy ones?

I thought he was meh v WBA to be honest

His hold up play is ok but nothing you wouldn't get from most strikers ...

We need a No.10 who looks forward, is on the front foot.

Roberts is ideal, he's just crocked.

A fair opinion, I remember how we always looked more vital, energetic ergo dangerous as a team when Roofe was on over Bamford last season. I honestly don't know anymore, but the question will certainly be answered when we get another striker.
