Joe Pesci scared me in that scene. Great acting. Joe, Ray & Bob were on awesome form.

Ray Liotta and Andy Fletcher, 1990 wouldn't have been the same without them...

Lester Piggott 86. Simply the greatest jockey ever to grace the flat. His record speaks for itself.
RIP The LongFella

Yes, Jay without the greatest jockey to grace the racecouses.
I have a genuine story to tell about Lester. I worked at Collin Stud in Stetchworth, Newmarket over 20 years ago and Lester had a filly & foal with us. Me and another lad had to bring them out for him to have a look. I was just thinking don’t f**k it up and let the foal go or whatever it’s bloody living legend Lester Piggott! He left a fiver with the boss for us both. The man who had a reputation for being so tight left me a fiver ffs 8-)
One of his best rides was Royal Academy in the Breeders Cup mile. Interview afterwards “when did you think you would win Lester” - “when I got booked for the ride last Friday”. Classic Piggott, hated the press, especially the yanks :shhh:

RIP The LongFella
I did a fair bit of work on his properties 15 years ago, a very humble guy

Yes he was. Ruthless on the track but quiet & humble off it.
Are you a builder Velo? Imagine he had a few nice places. Latter part of his life was in Switzerland I think.

Wonderful quip from Lester

Didn't know you'd worked in the real racing world amongst the gee-gees, Jay.

Yes, for about 3 years at Collin Stud, Leon. Stetchworth was where Barney Curley had his house that Frankie Dettori bought. We took mares all over for covering including Sandringham and Dalham Hall.
One of the stallions standing at Collin Stud was Dancing Spree. Breeders Cup sprint winner. Check the YouTube of it, never ever looked like it would win. Lad I worked with there previously worked at a trainer, can’t remember his name but Charles St. George was a big owner (remember him) and he had breakfast with Piggott many times. A cigar & a black coffee was all he had.
