RIP Nanci Griffith

Rita was sixteen years
Hazel eyes and chestnut hair
She made the Woolworth counter shine
And Eddie was a sweet romancer
And a darn good dancer
And they waltzed the aisles of the five and dime

Following the announcement author, TV producer and Pointless star Richard Osman tweeted: "Over 15 years producing 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Sean Lock made me laugh so much and so often. A unique and brilliant comic voice. Love to his family and his many friends."

"Sad news about Sean Lock," added stand-up comedian and QI panellist Alan Davies. "Funny on stage, hilarious off."

Comedian and actor Ricky Gervais added: "Such sad news. RIP the great Sean Lock. One of the funniest, most influential comedians of a generation. A lovely man."

Sean Lock was a very funny man.

Loved him on 8 out of 10 cats do Countdown. If you haven’t seen it Google the ‘Carrot in a Box’ game and watch it……he’s brilliant 😆

Sad news about Sean. Had great timing for a comic and not afraid to push the boundaries. R.I.P

Rest easy, Sean. An extremely funny man.
'15 Storeys High' is a hugely underrated sitcom. Would have garnered a huge following had it not been stuck on at something like 11:30 at night.

RIP Brian Travers, saxophonist of UB40, one of my all time favourite groups. Saw them live three times back in the 80's.
Such a shame Ali Campbell left the groups in 2008 due to disagreements over finances.

Never saw them, but they were the first band I ever danced to in a public place. Unfashionable now, perhaps, but they were a gateway to reggae for me at the time.

Probably before most people's time one of the greats from the 50's/60's passed away this week.

Don Everly, the surviving member of the rock 'n' roll duo The Everly Brothers, has died at the age of 84.

Don and his brother, Phil, had hits worldwide in the late 1950s and early 1960s, including Bye Bye Love, All I Have To Do Is Dream, Walk Right Back, Cathy's Clown, Crying In The Rain, Wake Up Little Susie & more...

RIP Don
