As you said it started off really well and then plummeted into a show that was directionless. It became apparent to me that they had only planned on a limited number of shows but when it became a big success they just started making it up as they went along. I gave up after the first series.

Ratched is very good. The early life of Mildred Ratched - the head nurse in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest portrayed originally by Louise Fletcher. Her earlier self is excellently portrayed by Sarah Paulsen. (The DA in the OJ Simpson trial series.). Plenty of gore amongst the 50's outfits.

Someone mentioned a Finnish series which is being aired as Bordertown
and had a dig around and found that in Finland it was called Sorjonen
and I have now watched all three series, and thought it was very well done
particularly season 3 which was filmed in winter.
All about a detective with Asperger's syndrome... a sort of autistic savant
who is good at solving things, but suffers when it comes to his relationships

I was the one that asked you about it.rab_rant wrote: ↑Sat Nov 21, 2020 9:45 pm Someone mentioned a Finnish series which is being aired as Bordertown

I really enjoyed it.
Series 1 and 2 made Finland look inviting. Series 3 in the winter reminded me of why we chose to live in Texas.

We've been watching The Sinner, halfway through series 2 and very good so far.
Also started The End of the F****** World, also very good so far but I couldn't binge-watch it I think.

We also like Cardinal, once we got used to the main characters voice, which we found annoying at first.

It's been hinted that the main character from The Bridge suffers from a similar condition as she is unable to interact with othersrab_rant wrote: ↑Sat Nov 21, 2020 9:45 pm Someone mentioned a Finnish series which is being aired as Bordertown

Well I am 8 episodes into season 2 of lost...
It is bloody ridiculass, I like scifi and mystery etc but this is stretching it a bit too far,,,

Not sure if anyone else has recommended this, but Mindhunter is an excellent choice and my favourite show on Netflix.
Lost is a strange one Hector and only gets more ridiculous as it goes on. I did enjoy it ultimately and managed to get through it but if you're looking for it to get more sensible, don't hold your breath.

Re: Playlist over the last week......
Watched this over the last week Gandi and really enjoyed itGandalf wrote: ↑Fri Nov 20, 2020 2:46 pm Ugh - Horrible. Bought it and hated it. A friend said I had to play it a few times. No, still hated it. Sold it at a car boot. Fast forward a decade, somebody on Waccoe music thread (probably you) said I had to listen to it, it was fantastic. Bought it again. Still hated it. Gave it away, again.
Can't find the TV thread, so I'll put it here, seeing it has a fantastic 60's soundtrack (including a few I had forgotten, but will be eventually making an appearance in the Mega Song poll thread).
The Queen's Gambit. It's about Chess. It is not boring. Only seven episodes.

I love Mindhunter, based on the books by John Douglas. David Fincher directs it but seems like it may never return as he's busy with other projects.Fridge wrote: ↑Tue Dec 01, 2020 3:24 pm Not sure if anyone else has recommended this, but Mindhunter is an excellent choice and my favourite show on Netflix.
