You've witnessed something I've seen in Phillips then Norfolk

Phillips is already a very good player & has been hugely impressive this season contrary to what some think on here. KP is an important cog of the spine in our team we've sorely lacked over the last umpteenth years
Yes, lots, almost everyone got on his back after a slip vs Cardiff.

Difference is Phillips has been fortunate that his many mistakes havent been punished.

Neves was an important cog, Shelvey was an important cog, Phillips is a bang average player which is why the more talented one was sold when we needed money and no sod wanted Phillips.

He has done ok this season, had a great game vs Norwich, but the way some have crawled you would be forgiven for thinking that he has been the second coming of Claude Makelele.

Are there better players in the Phillips role, 100% yes.
Are there better players in the Championship in that role . .absolutely. (id swap Ben Pearson for Phillips in a heartbeat for example).

Phillips has done n ok job, but the fawning over him is ludicrous :rol:

The more talented one who put in lethargic performances in the friendlies against some very poor opposition & obviously didn't impressed Bielsa as much as Klich, Forshaw & Phillips

The talented one who has never shown any consistency whilst at ER

The talented one who "is only a teenager & never gives the ball away" :rol:

The talented one who scored twice in his 63 appearances for Leeds

The talented one who in Sampdoria's first 7 games has only played 29 minutes of football, a yellow card to boot as well

The talented one who was linked to no premiership clubs

Both Phillips & Vieira are valued @ £5m on the Transfermarket site

I suspect we'd get around £7 million for KP if the likes of Spurs or Arsenal came in for him, maybe more

I suspect Jansson & Cooper believe KP has done more than just an ok job this season

There were strong rumours in the summer both Vieira and Jansson were being touted around because we needed the money.

I very much think Bielsa was aware of this hence the sidelining of both Vieira and Jansson for players 90% of people would agree were less talented in Berardi and Phillips.

As it turned out they sold Vieira and Jansson decided not to go.

Vieira was a Dm . . Goals wernt his game.

Also had a better passing accuracy then Philips since you bring that up :)

Philips has shown no consistency either depite being a few years older . . . .

"Attention to Ronaldo Vieira, he has not played so much, but he has already given a glimpse of his qualities: he is a central midfielder who is always in the game, who never looks for the fancy but always finds himself in the right place at the right time. And then he’s a ’98 (year he was born), he has everything to grow and establish himself.”

The words of one of the Sampdoria players agents when asked which Sampdoria player had most impressed him (not Vieira's agent so no reason to say that if it wasnt true )

Know Phillips is a fave of yours Leon, respect your opinion.

But Vieira is the better player, always was when here and was sacrificed (Radz used that word ) because the club needed the cash.

I dont dislike Phillips, think he is a decent Championship player.

But yet to be convinced he is anything more, Vieira will play for England and will establish himself at Sampdoria, just a matter of time.

What's his heritage as he's mixed race? Just wondering if he could get a call up for another country.

Jansson Phillips Cooper and Ayling made the most passes.

Heat map shows where Kalvin spent most of his time was coincidently where Hull spent the least.

Not so hard to pass when under no pressure and when only 36% of your passes are in the opposition half :P

Another decent performance for The Yorkshire Pirlo.

Does show how stats can be manipulated if taken at face value ;-)

Ayling passing was poor last night. I don't need stats to determine a players form

The reason those four had the most passes is because we passed it around the back for long periods.

Pontus & Phillips made the more positive telling passes. Top two players by a mile, both dictated our play

Alioski above KP is a joke :(

Best game for Phillips imo.

Was very impressed with his reading of the game, stepping out to make interceptions was the best bit and what the best in that role do.

They dont have to make crunching tackles, they use there brain.

Well done Kalvin

That needs to be the norm, do the same to Carvalho on Saturday.

Player of the season for me

Immense improvement under Bielsa's guidance, can't believe KP is so young, 22yo & still learning

Thought he was poor today.

Passing was off, a strange over powerful lunge that was totally unnecessary, had time given how defensive Forest were, should be dictating things in his position against that sort of set up.

And for the corner cant help but thinkhe made a total hash of that clearence, just miskicked it.
