MAX RICHTER - SLEEP

I like the Bill Fay one too. 'World Of Life' especially is a beautiful song. I like the Benjamin Clementine in patches and thought he was excellent on Jools Holland when he first appeared. I do find the album a bit patchy, however. A sort of 7/10 affair. The Beirut one is a bit dull in my opinion. The Adele one I forced myself to listen to 3 or 4 tracks and that was enough for me. Good voice and all that but she does nowt for me.
Kamasi Washington's was the best of the year by a country mile. The fact that it wasn't shortlisted means you're all bonkers  Max Richter would have been in my top 3 overall though. Looking forward to getting the full, 8 hour version.
Adele comment :roflmao:

I gave Washington 7 points, best jazz album of the year & deserved a Grand Final spot

Richter, Fay & Clementine are all superb imo !

Beirut album is their worst album so far, they'll never better The Flying Club Cup album, I voted for it purely because i own it & didn't rate the other rock/indie nominations. Poor year for rock music !

In fairness, I don't have a problem with her at all. I appreciate she has a really good voice but by and large her music just leaves me a bit cold. Also, Mrs Durly played the previous album to death when it first came out.

In fairness to Mrs Durly, her taste is pretty good on the whole. When I first met her I was in awe of the fact that she had 5 Husker Du albums on vinyl.

That very impressive, Durly, no wonder you married her!! My missus likes Heart and soft feckin rock!

As for Adele, it's what we call 'blue rope music' over here. He left you, get over it!!

Benjamin Clementine on the basis that he's the only one of the 5 I've listened to (thanks for the rec, Leon  )

but still...Adele. I have a padded cell to hand for the first time "She....." brings home a One Direction or McFly album, (are they still a thing?)

McBusted now.........errr.......I believe.

Mrs Durly and I share a mutual loathing of Queen, which is to her immense credit and, in my world, far outweighs her liking Adele, who, as I say, doesn't offend me really.......I just don't find her very interesting.
