I have renewed excitement in LUFC with this news. I'll stay grounded until confirmation THAT it's really happening and WHO it might be. (Frying pan/fire/etc) Seriously cautiously optimistic right now though... :o

I have already contacted the Trust saying this was an ill advised statement until anything concrete is settled. Bates can use the very fact to ditch any deal and blame the fans- AGAIN.
bates thinks the Internet is a horror story told to children to make them behave. He has no idea it's actually a media monster that's capable of taking him down. I wouldn't worry too much.

Looks like this thread could be the greatest present to everyone here on the forum. Keep the positive feelings folks, this ain't over yet. And in true LUFC fashion, while the fat lady maybe warming up, there's still plenty of time for her to go tits up also.

Talk with unnamed potential investors?

Could mean anything from a loan, to buying a minority shareholding, to buying preference shares to a possible takeover

Meaningless - nothing to get excited about.

The club have issued the following statement...
Further to media reports on Tuesday morning, the club can confirm that talks are taking place regarding investment for the long-term future.
The club has always publicly stated that it would welcome potential investment, but has maintained a belief whereby the quality of the investor is the most important factor in terms of the long-term development of Leeds United.
No further comment will be made at this stage.

When names of investors become offical and what there intention is then I will start to get excited, we have been let down so many times before, only positive thing is this is why we stopped buying players and currnet players are not signing as Ken has put a halt to it all as he is selling

Still a long way to go before any potential good news.

I even saw a comment on a news story that Ridsdale wants to come in as a partner with Bates - a marriage made in hell!

Perhaps we should rename this thread to prevent others who don't know the meaning of TOMA to start their own...

If you don't know what TOMA means, you haven't been a Leeds fan for long enough
