Brendan Rodgers, another promising young manager

Post by 1964white »

Just watched Swansea beat the Gunners at the own game. Pass & movement, retention of the ball playing with pace, wonderful to watch.
Nathan Dyer & Scott Sinclair ran Arsenal ragged as they did when they battered us 3-0 at the Liberty Stadium last season

Another team showing what can be achieved with basically championship players when organised in the correct way !

Dude, I just said this on facebook, really magical team. think someone said "Barcelona of the championship" made the gooners look like mugs! Will look out for them in the future.
Lovely to watch, traingles all the way.

That's where a philosophy get's you. Swans have had the same philosophy since Martinez took over. Takes a while but a club with a philosophy which it deploys from juniors through to first team and which only buys players who 'fit' is the way to build long term success. That's why Warnock would be a disaster for Leeds.

Glad you've woken up to Rogers at last 64

ANOTHER dig, Leon? This time I agree with you  - tho he did take over a great team and they spent THREE YEARS in the Championship before getting promoted.

They are hell of a team.

Probably the best Championship team to go up in years.. Norwich are just on a 2 and a half year lucky streak, i won't accept they play well.

Sacked by Reading after doing very poorly with a very decent squad. Perhaps the squad he inherited at Swansea was more suitable to 'his' philosophy after all he has been in charge less than a year and a half. Yes has done brilliantly but look at Aidy Boothroyd when he went to Watford and got them promoted, not really done much elsewhere. Sometimes managers fall lucky.

I wonder if ducks fans berate rogers for his defensive failings didn't they concede 2 goals today, because when Leeds under SG were scoring goals he was still getting slated on here for his defense

Swans V Van Persie

Leeds v John Parkin

We defended well v the Gunners last Monday but one piece of brilliant movement & then a superb finish from a quality player undid us !

Your not kidding. It doesn't take much to confuse me but he's making an art form out of the never ending turnaround. He reminds me of one of the one liners my dad used to trot out. "I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure"

Leeds only took one goal against the gooners
If swansea can play like that every game they are going to Europe.
Just goes to show it can be done on a budget.

I am betting that even if that whole team had been Leeds with the manager, some would be claiming it is just because of the Transfer window, or saying we can't defend or whatever.
Every game I predict a 3 - 1 Leeds win, I am traditional like that.

I think leeds fans are just looking for some wins on the bounce Mav.
Because at the moment, it dont look like we can just "turn it on" and come away with a win, even at home.
This is the worse patch of form I have seen leeds in since last seasons dip. (excluding the performance against the goons - why oh why could they not take that form to palace, they were down to ten men....)

Good Carnlough man - an area more noted for its GAA than football - but he obviously learned about pass and move, the importance of pace and the bedrock that is physical fitness.
Beware the fury of a patient man - John Dryden.

I get that, although 97th min gifts to win do not reassure do they?

I am just saying we are a pessimistic lot in the main, something which is apparent in ER (lack of vocal support) IMHO.
