Another quality player missed out on. Matt Derbyshire going to Forest, apparently.

That must be the 619th player we've 'just missed out on'.
How unlucky is that?

Not sure if we were ever in for him. Was mentioned quite a bit this time last season. But still, would've been a very nice addition, imo.barryanorak wrote:

We are the only club in history surely, to miss out on players we never even try to sign

Cannot understand why all the championship teams are signing players with pedigree whilst we persist with players that are either a risk or someone i have never heard of

Come come Leon, you understand perfectly. Other teams are paying the going rate. That's all.1964white wrote:

Is it the 'going for' that you enjoy 64 or the actual signing. If it's the signings you appear to want a squad of maybe 100 to 120 players. You are the transfer market equivalent of pebble dash

A classic riot phrase, if I might say so.

That's where the classic catch phrase, irons in the fire, comes into play.faaip wrote:

I want us to go for the best players that are available to us & quite honestly i don't think we do, far too many average signingswhite.riot wrote:

You seem content with second-rate players WR

Not sure Paynter could even be classed as second rate to be honest... Maybe 5th or 6th?
Derbyshire was good with good potential at B'Burn, but has since gone off the boil, didnt get much of a look in at Birmingham last year, so good luck to Forest.
I cant wait for our marquee signing... There's gotta be one somewhere, where big Ken will stretch himself somehow...

Surprised Larry hasn't made a bid for Steve Howard who will probably struggle to find a place in the Foxes team, could do alot worse infact we have done alot worst in the past
Howard is 35yo, a big bustling centre forward who actually scores goals & would be ideal to play alongside McCormack
Last night we were crying out for a forward that can hold the ball up, be nice to have big hard man in our team
Howard has all the credentials Larry & his scouts look for, he'd be cheap too. Only downside is we have all heard of him & previously seen him play

id like big john parkin who for a fat lad is alot quicker than paynter and he is quite good on the ball, he can also hold it up well too. Big strikers do well in the championbship look at holt
