Curiously, and apropos of nothing, I have two David Thomas solo albums which he recorded under the name of David Thomas and the Pedestrians.

I only have them on vinyl and, with no currently working turntable, find it hard to listen to them.

When I had a working turntable they were also, but for different reasons, hard to listen to.
Music so wishes to be heard that it sometimes calls on unlikely characters to give it voice...

Tough one that! Blondie definitely top but below that took some thinking. Didn't like dropping Kate Bush out..
