Re: The mystery of the Low Block

I made the Man City comparison. Wasn't suggesting we have the quality they do, we obviously don't. But we do have far more resources financially than basically every other team. Man for man we are better than basically every team. So I think the Man City thing was reasonable in that respect. Farke i...

Re: How many games before we change manager

4 games till the next international break. Cardiff who we have a patchy record against. Coventry who took 4 points off us last season. Norwich who we have a good record against. And Sunderland who are the surprise package so far this season. By the 2nd international break I'd have expected to be com...

Re: Leeds Utd v Burnley Match Thread

If we take the last 11 League games then form is poor. W3..D3..L5 So no denying there is a potential pattern that the board needs to keep an eye on. However it's a new season with new players to integrate and that means there needs to be some appreciation of the process. Farke wasn't responsible fo...

Re: Leeds Utd v Burnley Match Thread

As per last season we will win far more than we lose because of the players we have. Hard to sack a manager under these circumstances. However the club has to be brave if things are heading in a similar direction to last season ie the performances are just, well, stumbling along. Last year we sleep...

You really need to drag yourself away from the tele, get yourself to a game and watch real human beings play football pal.
Not for me.

Been to plenty in the past all over the place.

Don't like crowds now.

Re: Leeds Utd v Burnley Match Thread

And who are we going to employ as Farke's replacement? Do you remember going through four coaches in our relegation season, Cjay I dislike the "who else" argument. It doesn't stand to reason, will be dozens if not hundreds of managers in the world we could employ. The kid Brighton got, he...

Defensively he's looked very poor and it hasn't just been in one game.

Also the pitch was ridiculous.

Grass was too long in areas

Re: Leeds Utd v Burnley Match Thread

Using the full width of the pitch is one of the best ways to break down a low block imo. And keeping the opposition pushed back, not having the ball constantly in useless areas. If you compare us to Man City you can see the difference. Man City probe both sides of the defence. Keep the opposition pu...

Re: Leeds Utd v Burnley Match Thread

If it's the former then the manager isn't doing his job.. But would be interesting to see if it's the same with most clubs. Man City play through Rodri and De Bruyne Rotherham were the only side with a larger focus down one side than us percentage wise in the Championship last season (but obviously...

Carrick Dave wrote: Sat Sep 14, 2024 3:08 pm You don’t need a heat map to know we’re still as lopsided as ever.

Does it tell us whether it’s down to the players or if it’s the manager’s instruction? That’d be worth knowing.
Would assume if two separate seasons use the same tactics its got to be tactical?

Unless the players ignore Farke.

Re: Today's Games

Think last season we included second as well as Ipswich started as fast and I don't think anyone is expecting a Leicester like season from Sunderland. We'd be beating Rooney's Plymouth if they were our opponents today... Was just being cheeky as I hated that type of negative attitude  Sunderla...

Re: Leeds Utd v Burnley Match Thread

In case anyone is interested in our tactical setup. Heatmaps show the pattern is identical to last season. The 2 midfielders rarely get near the opposition box with a heavy focus on the centre to left side. The right back gets forward far less than the left despite the gap being vast as Gnonto is al...

Sunderland just scored.

1-0 Plymouth.

If Sunderland win DF will not expect us to get promoted as it will be impossible.

Same as last season at this stage.

The points gap would be identical between us and 1st

Why does he keep saying "dominant side"

Meaningless possession against an opponent allowing it isn't dominant.

Re: Leeds Utd v Burnley Match Thread

Farke - how frustrating? It's the most frustrating when you go back to the dressing room and you cannot explain how you did not win this game. After this difficult break, with so many players travelling, I did not expect to be this dominant. How we started the game, on the front foot. Dominated the...

I hope he can provide more offensively over the season because defensively he's awful.

Real concerns about Bogle.

Would even consider dropping for Byram.
