Re: Crystal Palace v Leeds United Match Thread
I’m still upbeat. Apart from the big six, most teams would struggle with 4 starting players out of their lineup, let alone a side with half a dozen PL games under its belt. I don’t thinK we’ve had the chance to play the same back 5 (including DM) in consecutive games all season so it should not be s...

Re: Your favourite one hit wonder ...
Never heard of ‘Wishing’ down here. In Oz, if I Google ‘80’s one hit wonders’ FOS comes up at number 2 after Dexy’s. Seems we only got a limited playlist down here.

Re: Your favourite one hit wonder ...
Ugly kid Joe had a hit with Cats in the Cradle too.... I agree about the Might Wah though... love that tune.. I was just about to post Cat’s in the Cradle as my fave.... but ... 2 hit wonder. So, instead was going to choose “I Ran” by Flock of Seagulls which was a number one in Australia ... but ap...

If the election goes badly on Tuesday, a lot of Americans will be looking to re-locate.
Problem is, nobody wants us.

Re: Bielsa bemoans poor finishing.
Today huge test and a yard stick for the rest of the season, its all about how the players respond now to this defeat, first half against wolves dominated without really threating the goal. second half wolves were far more slick than us and opened us up on a few occasion and could have had more. Vi...

Re: Aston Villa v Leeds Utd Match Thread - Struijk starts in defensive midfield
I also want to salute the tactical genius of God in making that 20th min substitution. Pascal will recover, I remember Kalvin going off after a similar in our first game against Swansea(?). But that sort of decisiveness is why Bielsa is the greatest. This. Short of defenders on the bench and he’s s...

That is just top quality finishing. So calm in a tight situation then just slotted it.

Re: Today's Games
It's tough to say on this one. If a linesman calls for offside, the play stops and the foul never happens. But ... we see plenty of situations of a ball going out for a throw, followed by a bad tackle, and the player gets sent off. I was thinking the same. Or A situation where two players go for a ...

Yes, shocking precedent. Game is apparently no longer ‘live’ until the whistle stops it.Smudge3920 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 17, 2020 7:53 pm What a stupid precident ...If that was a rule you would have players like me running to take out an opposition player every offside call... as its a freebie

Re: Leeds Utd v Man City - MATCH THREAD
Just watched the City goal again. Cooper slightly off balance when trying to make the initial clearance - would have struggled to do much else. In my view far worse was his poor effort in basically going to ground as Sterling looks to set up for the shot.

Re: The "Summer" Transfer Window 20/21 season
I think having 3-4 additional ‘first team’ players is essential in the PL. If we can sign a top AM and a GK we are then in a position where a long term injury to any player would not be a disaster.

Now Dutch winger Gyrano Kerk is in the mix. Looks better value than Kent if it’s a winger we’re after.

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Friday 25th September) - Udinese find replacement for De Paul
May help with De Paul that we have just signed 2 Spanish Internationals? Intent. He seems to be the one that has got everyone frothing at the mouth. Are we being held to ransom again tho? It does seem odd. If he is that good why no one else as snapped him up. We are possibly the only side whose sol...
