Re: Ashes 2019 : England v Australia

Good resistance this afternoon and although I wouldn't say it is finely poised at least we are still in with a chance. The key will no doubt be the new ball after a few overs in the morning. Reckon if we can get to within 100 with 1 of Root, Stokes, Bairstow or Buttler still there it could be a tens...

Re: County Cricket Championship

Kent all out for 40 in their second knock. That's just incredible. The wickets have been falling at an alarming rate over the last two days in that match and Essex will require 153 to win. I reckon if they get the required runs then that should be the title wrapped up along with it, leaving Yorkshir...

Steve Smith abused in the Long Room of all places: "The prestigious Marylebone Cricket Club ejected one of its own members from Lord's on Saturday after he hurled verbal abuse at Steve Smith in the famed Long Room of the pavilion. The incident occurred when Smith was walking from the field after mak...

Re: Ashes 2019 : England v Australia

We do have a lot of very good bowlers bar maybe a decent spinner.. Agree I think we have enough in Broad, Archer, Woakes and Stokes nevermind JA to cause them as many problems as their attack will cause us during this series. All Leach needs to do is continue his CC form and he could have a big say...

Glad he went early. It's only the 2nd test and I'm already sick of him pulling faces and sticking his tongue out while at the crease. Almost annoying as Warner and his gloves. Early walks for those 2 are fine by me.

Re: Ashes 2019 : England v Australia

While Johnny B did quite well for his half century with a measured innings I can as ever see where Boycott is coming from. In the 1st test while SS was making his runs in the first innings batsmen came and went. Smith was protecting them, especially the tail enders by keeping himself at the crease, ...

 Good one. Actually he never actually said it anyway as that guy next to him stood up at the same time and beat him to it followed by everyone else. Cue Kirk's tears. He's 102 now you know!

Re: Ashes 2019 : England v Australia

The thing with Roy is he is 29 now and has spent the whole of his international career in ODI and T20 and only made is test debut a few weeks ago v Ireland. His inclusion for me is simply desperation by the selectors at what is an ongoing problem of finding an opening pair capable of holding their o...

Re: Ashes 2019 : England v Australia

I think Leach coming in for Moen is a given for the 2nd test and see how he fares. Moen is really out of form. Rashid is also an option and would relish a shot at the Aussies in the 3rd test at Headingley. I can't see where the runs are going to come from to be honest to win this series despite good...

Re: County Cricket Championship

Tea on Day 3: Essex are 191/6 needing a further 50 runs to avoid the follow on. That was a good session for Yorkshire and hopefully they can get the wickets and get Essex back out to bat before the close. Can't see this ending in any other way than a draw if they don't. Good forecast for tomorrow.

Sir Alastair if you please  Schoolboy edge to Kohler-Cadmore. He looked so bored in the slips yesterday. At one point he resorted to playing paper scissors stone with himself. He really did.

Should be pushing on for 350+ by the close of play I reckon. Nice to see Lyth making some runs for a change. Kohler-Cadmore playing some nice stuff too.

Re: Sacrifice Who?

I'd also hate to lose Clarke at this stage. I think the figures been talked about are way over the mark to be honest. 15/20 million? No way. Yes he played some great stuff last term but lets face it and if the rumours are true, Spurs & Pochettino would have to be pretty dam sure about Clarke and his...

Re: County Cricket Championship

Was watching the game and I thought Hants might've got the win had it not been for the rain. Still I think a draw was a fair result considering. Amazing stuff from Ballance once again had me looking at the record books but I couldn't find what I was looking for. He now has 5 centuries in five consec...

Faced with an identical situation as last week having to face the 2nd new ball after tea with a few wickets remaining they managed to hold off the Surrey att...

Re: County Cricket Championship

A very impressive turnaround by Yorkshire given the first innings deficit of 86, thanks largely to a brilliant 159 from Gary Ballance and Ben Coad's 6 for 52 in the 2nd innings. Fair play to Kent for making a good fist of it today but thankfully the second new ball came at just the right time after ...
