Re: Are you celebrating the Jubilee ?

Look for an example to Australia, the other side of the world. 'Let's have a referendum!' cry a few. What was the result? The people in general WANT our Queen to be there, and long may she be so. Our massive expat population has a lot to do with that, i think.... because I'd say 99% of people from ...

Re: Are you celebrating the Jubilee ?

Im still surprised people actually survive in Aussieland...every animal you got down there is designed specific to harm/hurt/torture and kill humans. Your spiders are the size of small dogs ffs but i do envy your climate It is not as bad as people think it is..... I've never seen a shark, a crocodi...

Re: O/T - The movies / Television thread

Yeah... i think the fact that you can see the edge of the screen on the tele, which cuts the 3D image off sometimes, takes away from it a fair bit...

..... my sound system's pretty good but 8-)

Re: O/T The Music Discussion Thread

The Australian team will struggle for a few years now, i think.... The new A-League has been good for improving the overall standard of Aussie footballers, but we don't seem to produce any super-stars atm... We had our 'golden generation' [that's relative, of course] and now the team is full of blok...

Re: O/T - The movies / Television thread

3D all depends on if the movie was actually filmed in 3D, or converted to 3D. Filmed in 3D such as transformers then its brilliant, converted like most films then its useless Tron was made for 3D.... it is impressive, dont get me wrong, but i dont think it really adds much to the film.. in saying t...

Re: O/T The Music Discussion Thread

i'll be honest, the '20 year' bit was an exaggeration, but the story about Gotye being the 2nd most played song and ACDC being #1 was only on the tele 2 or 3 days ago... So ACDC certainly was the most played this last 12 months.... i guess i just assumed that it must have been that way for a long ti...

Re: O/T - The movies / Television thread

I bought Tron Legacy in 3D on Bluray to watch on my 3D tele [which i've had since christmas but only ever watched one 3D film on] I thought it was ace!! I still think the 3D technology is rubbish..... just a gimmick... but the film itself was massively entertaining if you're just a nerd at heart [li...

Re: O/T The Music Discussion Thread

That Gotye bloke is Australian... it was massive here..... and it was apparently the 2nd most played Australian song outside of Australia in the last 12 months.

#1 is still ACDC, and has been for 20 years

Re: Are you celebrating the Jubilee ?

Wife was following in on telly here. Said only time queeny smiled was when it was all over. Claire's mum says the same thing about England... she longs to go 'home' and be with her family, and she still gets quite home sick, but once she's there, she realises how lucky she is to live in Australia.....

Re: Official TOMA (Take Over My Arse) thread

To be fair, silky did say that he didn't know or care about Bates history before Leeds, so by definition he has to dismiss his business history. A bit alarming though that someone training to be a journalist doesn't know or care about research. I'm studying a degree in Sports Media, not journalism....

Linked to Matty Kilgallon today.... i think he's one of the few old boys who we would all gladly welcome back... It was Warnock that took him to Blades, too, so this one seems like a match made in heaven...

Re: Official TOMA (Take Over My Arse) thread

You mean like Chelsea's attitudes to what bates did for them has changed :roflmao: Last I heard they are having trouble getting permission to move to a new ground because of something to do with bates ownership of the pitch. To the last he digs his heels in for the sake of causing a fight. I'm not ...

Re: Disgraceful.

I simply find riots arrogance undeserved as he is so woefully misinformed. Regardless of what Lorimer did in the past he is nothing more than a lapdog. He has lost respect because someone who lets themself go from what he was to what he is deserves to lose respect. His post isn't an update, it's ju...

Re: O/T The Music Discussion Thread

Alternatively, Claire can go out with her girlfriends, i'll grab a cold beer, turn Pearl Jam up as loud as it goes and wash my beloved old Ford out in the sun... Both equally as enjoyable :-D I take red wine out to dinner to save money, and normally when we're trying to be posh and bring out cheese ...
